Re: OT I Want To Tell You Lies
Thankfully last night was....calm... made no 911 calls after 9pm, not saying anyone else didn't but we only had 3 crews for the night and since my number didn't get pulled, I would say it was a good CPAP'n night! Only had one run after midnight and all I had to do was operate the wheelchair lift and...

OT I Want To Tell You Lies
I have been spreading this poem around the internets since the 9/11 anniversary. It is a very true poem that greatly refletcts what I do for a living, which is truly a calling. I take no credit for it since the writer is anonymous. I just take credit for spreading it. If you are here and work in EMS...

If your machine has a mask-off alarm, you should turn it on. It's nice to be alerted when the mask comes off or a hose pops off. These PR S1 machines do have an alarm of sorts. I can't really call it much of an alarm. My long hose came off the short hose the other morning. I woke up to the faint "b...

Well the SpO2 reading is pretty good for someone one respiratory depressants. Anything 94% and above is normal, 90%-93.9% is moderate hypoxia, the cpap combined with the o2 is allowing gas exchange to take place without a full respiration. I don't trust SpO2 100%, so many factors can cause an inaccu...

Re: Need a mask recommendation
i use the respironics full life, been with it 2 weeks now, no complaints here, also, no traditional head gear to worry about, however it is a full face, if you don't need that then you might try nasal pillows

Re: Hose Head Decal
I'm not a great artist, can't draw at all but what we need is a decal. A character with a mask on an underneath words saying Hose Head Society Member. I'd put it on my car and when someone asked me about it , I'd tell them about sleep apnea. Good way to get the word out, a little good humor never h...

Re: foods that fight pain?
Cayenne Pepper, the capsules are better, you can find them at any Walmart on the vitamin isle, Cayenne pepper is a great anti inflammatory. Works well in Diabetes patients as well as far as sugar and insulin control. For pain in the ankle you can take the dose in the morning, trust me it lasts all d...

Re: Getting copy of prescription from VA
I'll call Montgomery VA Hospital on Tuesday. The Pulm. Tech told me that if I wanted some supplies outside of VA care to let her know and she will get me the script. I had totally forgot about this when I asked the question. She is a fellow hoser and knows how hard it is for us to get supplies. Than...

I'm glad that ya'll are ok and safe. I am originally from South Florida and personally went through everyone from 1982-2002. They can be scary, I'm glad that you at least had a way to power your paps!

Getting copy of prescription from VA
Has anyone here had experience with this? I would love to be able to get a copy of my script but don't know where to start.
