Re: Need help with dry mouth, waking up & fatigue

Sinus problems can also cause dry mouth, as well as Reflux. My throat gets soar occasionally so I have a hot drink or chew sugarless gum which helps. A med I am taking gives me dry mouth, so having a drink or chewing gum (which my hubby hates) soothes.

As the Wind Blows - Question

A few nights ago there was a brief power outage around 1:30 a.m. I awoke and no sooner the power came back and my ResMed C+Flex came back on blowing full blast, that I was unable to use it. The air just seemed to blow all over my face. Has anyone had this experience? I called my supplier where I pur...

Re: Newbie, and need help

As Proterra said, hold the mask to your face, then adjust the straps. I too get tired in the afternoon. If I am not active I dose off sitting in my chair. I don't feel any more energetic with the Cpap. Fortunately I don't have any problems falling asleep. I just can't seem to sleep more then 6 to 7 ...

Re: CPAP and Airport Clearance

I have not travelled with my new CPAP machine, as of yet. Are there any special procedures I need to know about when clearing the TSA check point with my equipment? I have traveled several times on American Airlines and haven't had any problems. I just put the case unopened in a tray to go through ...

Head Cold

"Happy New Year to all". I have had a bad head cold this past week. Last Tuesday I threw up 6 times, had a soar throat, and a lot of nasal mucus. No fever. I haven't slept with the Cpap. When I try I am uncomfortable. My head still feels heavy. I have been flushing my sinuses with NeilMed sinus rins...

Re: My resentment against my CPAP

It is unfortunate you are having trouble using your Cpap. You might want to look into using a mouth appliance. I had used one for a few years and it did help with the snoring but not my apnea. Here is the website for a mouth appliance and they will also recommend a dentist who can fit you. It takes ...

Re: New CPAP user struggling along

You have to stick with one mask. To be on Cpap therapy for such a short time and bouncing from one type of mask to another, you will not get use to sleeping any length of time. Try to keep a mask on a few minutes longer each day. Maybe it's your pillows that need to be replaced. Try sleeping on your...

Re: Nasal Pillow pressure

The pressure I have is 8. I like the mask I have, just get a little pressure in area under the nose. I'm asleep most of the time in 1-2 minutes. I have a set of Resmed Swift nasal pads that were given to me by a nurse at the sleep lab. This was before I actually got tested. I have been through the t...

Nasal Pillow pressure

I've been considering going from a Nose Pad to a Nasal Pillow. When I put on my mask and turn on machine the air bursts forth.
Does this happen when you first put on the Nasal Pillow? The reason for the change would be that I wear glasses and may want to read before turning out the light.

Truly Nolan Exterminators use to have their inspectors drive a VW Bug with a tail attached to rear of car.

I had a Flyer wagon. I have a pass to the 1939 Worlds Fair at Flushing Meadows, NY for what its worth.

Re: Musty odor during restart?

I think the problem you are experiencing is because the water in the tank is warm. I wonder if you can add a little lemon juice or mint to the water if that would work. It is a good idea to run hot water threw your hose each day to clean. Your unit should be lower then your head on pillow so moistur...

You must have a lot of stress. You might try bio feed back. Talk with you doctor about it. Fortunately I don't have a problem falling
asleep. Be glad you don't sing in your sleep.

Re: Am I the only nut who uses bottled water in my humidifier?

I bought several gallon jugs of distilled water at Walgreen's last month on sale for 69 cents. If you are concerned about contamination of an opened gallon jar just boil the water you will use, let cool and that should clear up concern. My humidifier doesn't use more then approximately 20% water. I...

Re: Machine too Loud

I have the same machine and only hear noise when I turn it on. You might try getting a small stool and setting the machine on that. The machine is suppose to be on a lower level then your head so the hose does not collect moisture. I have a metal frame and keep the hose wrapped around the post. My o...

Re: Yesterday I had RF somnoplasty + turbinate reduction

I had Somnoplasty several years ago. You will have discomfort for a few days. Eat apple sauce (cold), cool broth, ice cream. Unfortunately this procedure does not last. I had it done because I snored and have sleep apnea. It work fine for several months and that's it. The doctor used a laser to redu...
