Why won't Sleepyhead run on my Mac?
I installed it on my daughters MacBook Pro and it runs fine. But on my Mac desktop, don't know the model name (about 4 years old, white shell, 2 Ghz Intel Core Duo CPU, 2GB RAM, running OS 10.6. it gives me an error "You can't open the application Sleepyhead because it is not supported on this type ...

Re: What do you talk about with your sleep Dr?
Thanks. I've been using Lunesta in a similar fashion as you describe for many months. I've been off of it for a couple of months since I stopped CPAP and switched to the oral appliance. I've had to start using again recently now that I'm trying CPAP again. I don't have any problem with pills, I'll u...

Re: What do you talk about with your sleep Dr?
Thx robysue, I just read your blog on CPAP induced insomnia, I'm pretty convinced I had it. I say had, because I stopped using it and have been trying an oral appliance instead. The appliance seemed to be working for a few weeks, but now not so much, so I'm trying CPAP again. And a combination of ap...

Re: Is my AHI low enough?
Thanks, my DME only offers 2 full face masks. One has a latex seal that I'm allergic to, I tried it, didn't know I was allergic to latex, found out the hard way. The other is the Quattro, I've tried large and medium. Large works best. At first I had horrible leaks with it, but I learned to fit it be...

Re: Skipping nights
I understand Janknitz, my problem is I can't decide if I get better sleep with or without CPAP. That's why I skip it, trying to compare which gives me a better (or less bad) night's sleep. I know I have apnea, but the machine keeps me awake so much that I feel terrible the next day. I have other thr...

Re: Is my AHI low enough?
Well that's my dilemma. As I mentioned the sleep study recommended 15, I tried for months and couldn't tolerate it. At 10 the mask/air flow doesn't wake me up. I don't know what my AHI is/was with no CPAP, but I'm assuming there must be SOME benefit even at 10. That air being pumped down my throat m...

Re: Skipping nights
Wow really, I skip using it all the time. When I need to get a good night's sleep, I don't use it. My sleep Dr. did not mention this being a problem.

Is my AHI low enough?
I've found that I can only tolerate the pressure up to about 10 - 10.5, beyond that I get leaks, which keep me awake, and the blowing in my face keeps me awake. So I run it at 10, the sleep study said I should run at 15, but I just can't make that work, I tried for months. At my max tolerable pressu...

What do you talk about with your sleep Dr?
My appointments usually last 1 minute or so. I give him my SD card, he looks at it for a little while. He's never shown the results to me. He asks me how it's going. I usually say not very well, and list all of the things that keep me up. He either says to keep at it, or he suggests another sleep st...

Re: Dry Mouth
Thanks. My wife has plenty of ridiculously expensive face cream, I'll give that a try. Last night actually went OK, I'll keep at it.

Re: Dry Mouth
Thanks What I'm looking for is to not feel tired all the time during the day. I don't want the CPAP to wake me up at night. I can't decide if I'm better off with or without it. Without it doesn't wake me up, I sleep, but with apneas. With it, my apneas are lower (i think), but it wakes me up. When I...

Re: Sleepyhead data
What's the difference between Clear Airway Apnea, and Obstructive Apnea? I don't see that on the definitions page. Also what does Periodic Breathing Mean? Thx Nevermind I found definitions for these. One thing I can't find though is the AHI bar graph breakdown. Each bar is separated into different c...
