New to Resmed. Airsense 10 water everywhere

ok, my F&P Icon auto had a power supply die after 3 years so insurance authorized early replacement. I got a new Resmed Airsense 10 Auto. My initial feelings were that it was light years ahead of the Icon, with the exception of a missing clock. I mean really...it wouldn't have been hard to add a fri...

Re: DME strikes again! EW!

Correct. They told me that as well. They apparently do some kind of testing to make sure and then make me wait for my insurance company to approve replacement.

DME strikes again! EW!

So my F&P Icon auto has a power supply problem after 3 years. Not a surprise because new versions have a big fat cord now. So I took it to the DME to get repaired. They gave me a loaner Icon to use for a few weeks. I got it out at bed time and noticed water in the reservoir....ew. I assumed it was c...

Re: Finally slept for 7 hrs. but aerophagia is unbearable

GasX won't help aerophagia, so save your money. You could have something else going on as well. I'm pretty good at aerophagia. I wake up occasionally and unleash cartoon quality burps. In the morning, I can produce cartoon quality burps AND farts. The point being, you should be able to eliminate the...

Re: Help me keep my mouth shut? (chin strap/mask advice needed)

I personally keep my jaw shut all night, but air leaks out between my lips. Great fun. I just turn the humidity up as high as I can so it doesn't dry me out. I have an autopap so it just pumps more air through to keep me breathing. I have considered taping my lips together...ha. What would happen if...

Re: gah, nose sores from pillows

ok, if you're new don't get freaked out by my post. I used lansinoh for maybe a week or two while my nares toughened up. After that it has been smooth sailing for the most part. I just keep getting these big, hard, extremely painful lumps in my nose. One of them popped when I tried to look at it. Ow...

Re: gah, nose sores from pillows

It got worse when I got a new mask. I wonder if I got a bum mask. It has leaked toward my left eye a bit from day one and I have had to use it a little tighter than the old one...

gah, nose sores from pillows

I've been using the swift nasal pillows for 10 months or so. (I'm on my 2nd set). I generally love the mask and can't sleep without it. However, I've been getting extremely painful bumps in my nose from time to time from the pillows. Anyone know of a solution? I hate using a nasal mask...so I don't ...

Re: Pressure Valve with all in one?

The Icon also has a quirk that keeps the water warm all day. I think I may just suck it up and let it dry everyday.

Re: Pressure Valve with all in one?

I just didn't want to leave it wide open all day. We grow lots of mold around here and I was hoping that the filter it draws through was catching enough to help.

Re: new F&P ICON PREMO user looking for data analysis info,

Make sure you hit the button until it just shows last night. The average on mine had some huge numbers from the DME just letting it flow in their office for a while. You can get online and see what rate your mask should flow at. ie, my swift pillows I think are about 20 l/min just blowing through th...

Pressure Valve with all in one?

This might seem like a strange request, but can you put a pressure valve on the hose elbow coming out of the machine to the mask? My cpap is an all in one unit with a built in humidifier. I want to be able to pull my hose off and dry it out without leaving the elbow to the cpap/humidifier wide open....

Am I having centrals?

The Icon only reports hypopneas and apneas in their software and doesn't identify centrals. I've noticed that they get worse after the machine bumps the pressure in response to them. I even woke up and realized I was not breathing but the airway was not closed like when I wake up to an obstructive a...

Re: New Icon User. Newbie issues

I think the ICON will be my baby since it is pretty small and easy to travel with. I don't dislike the ICON unit, I just dislike how they billed it out and didn't give me any options. (I also managed to get the software)

Re: New Icon User. Newbie issues

My machine reports my 95th percentile pressure as well as ahi, leak etc for the last night, last 7 nights avg, and last 30 nights avg. The machine was giving me a 95th percentile pressure of 12 but I seem to have some good nights around 6.5. There is no exhale relief and I think the sensawake is ann...
