Re: Is CA event in PR System One a common pattern?
The PSG that was conducted a few months ago mentioned only hypopnea, but no central or obstructive apnea On the other hand, here is what the CPAP summary report shows for Saturday night (4-30-11): http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5029/5682830230_fb2b648059_b_d.jpg It says: 349 minutes at pressure of 1...

Re: Is CA event in PR System One a common pattern?
Thanks for the replies, TooGroggy and Pugsy. I went back and edited my prior posts in this thread to avoid the confusion around the acronym CA. As the post TooGroggy suggested mentions, Respironics terminology distinguishes the Clear Airway events (CA) from Hypopnea or Obstructive Apnea since the de...

Re: Is CA event in PR System One a common pattern?
Here is the complete waveform report for Sat 4-30-11: The weird part of the waveform (which I questions about) is in page 7, at around 5:53-6:11AM. There you see several CAs and periodic breathing. Is this an indication of Central Apnea or this is a common pattern during the night for people with Ob...

Is CA event in PR System One a common pattern?
I was diagnosed to have hypopnea during the sleep study. However, based on the data collected last night by my CPAP machine, I am now wondering if besides hypopnea I may have also Central Apnea. Just dont know how reliable the PR System One analysis is and whether these "CA"= Clear Airway Apnea sign...

Re: 2LK68HM
Woke up after the 2nd part of my night. Did not have big issues either, same as in the 1st part. The only thing is I seem to have woken up and took off my mask and then fell asleep again on my back and then woke up again with racing heart and lack of breath because I was not using the machine. Need ...

Re: 2LK68HM
I think I am a bit closer to catching this "ghost" than what I was yesterday, I so hope at least . Just woke up, but after experimenting with the machine settings, I did much better on the 2 symptoms described at the beginning of the thread and wanted to share. I tried ramp from 8 to 10 (ramp from 4...

Re: 2LK68HM
Thanks! Julie: Yes, I did try to not use the ramp at all and was having problems falling asleep. So I kept the ramp but adjusted the start point from 4 to 7, 4 being what the DME provider had initially. I will continue to experiment. Tonight I will try again with no ramp at the beginning, If not, I ...

symptoms not relieved by CPAP machine
Thanks for the reply. I updated my profile with my machine information. When I first turn the machine on, it starts to ramp from 7 cm of pressure. It is set to ramp for 30 min to 10cm. When I get woken up after about 3 hours of sleep, the machine must be working at 10cm, however I will pay attention...
