Is there room inside for a bridge - or maybe externalize the fuse - what value is it ?
Is there room for a Circuit breaker instead of a bridge ?

We will crack the s8 tomorrow - I am guessing that the reverse polarity occurance opened a diode that - hopefully - will be a simple replacement. I also look to install a bridge rectifier so that it can handle either + or - on the center pin..

Did you ever get your S8 repaired & what did you find? I am considering making a mod inside to accomodate either + or - center pins. I just tried to "CHECK" my S8 in preperation for a trip and inadvertantly grabbed the wrong 12v cord from my other cpap & the S8 is now dead.. I plan to put on the ben...

I screwed up.. I have 2 different cpap machines that use the same 12v barrel connector for 12v power.. looks like I plugged in the wrong one to my s8 and now it is completely dead. I am considering opening up the unit and repairing, and at same time installing a bridge rectifier so it will NOt need ...
