Re: Snoring but AHI ~ 1

I am having this same sort of issue...so, your wife can confirm that the "Vibratory Snores" are true snoring, and not other noises being picked up by the machine? I didn't know that was a possibility (new to the whole data interpretation side of xPAP), but I started looking for the snoring data whe...

Snoring but AHI ~ 1

I don't have the data in front of me, but after viewing my last few nights sleep, it appears I have been having a significant number of Vibratory Snore events over the last several nights. I have my usual AHI numbers, which hang around 1.0 - 1.5 or so. Any ideas as to why I am now snoring more than ...

Re: POLL -- Which Came First?

I'm 6' 4" and was about 230 lbs when I was diagnosed with OSA. 3+ years later and I am at 275 lbs. I don't put much stock in there being a correlation in my xPAP treatment and my weight gain, though, as there have been other significant changes in my life that would likely have had as much if not mo...

Re: How many board members use BiPAP?

I'm on BiPAP for just a few weeks so far. The lower pressures of my old CPAP weren't getting it done for me. 18/14 is doing it so far. Feeling much better and loving the BiPAP. Of course, I'm sure that "love" is just because I was SOOOOOO miserable when my therapy began to become insufficient and I ...

Re: drippy nose... bipap or not to bipap??

I had been wearing a Liberty before my pressures made it impossible to find a good seal, and I found when my nose was runny it was worthless. I'd switch to my Quattro and plug my nose with balled up paper towels for the night. Not the most comfortable, but it beats not sleeping at all.

Re: Where can I download Encore Pro 2?

Does the Pro version work on 64 bit machines? If so, I would appreeciate a DL link. I made the mistake of blindly trusting my original sleep doc for my first three years of CPAP therapy only to slide right back into sleep deprivation hell over the last few months. After a new sleep doc prescribed me...

Re: Who gave you your sleep apnea diagnosis?

I was fairly certain I had OSA prior to my sleep study based on the night sweats, waking up with my heart pounding etc and other common symptons, as well as a basic familiarity with the condition, but it was actually the Respiratory Tech at the sleep center who told me I had OSA. With a AHI of 81, h...

Re: Solution for mask exhaust noise?

My wife has taken to earplugs, which seems to have solved the issue. She's not exactly happy about it though, as she feels with the earplugs she may not hear if something is amiss with our 2 year old son. I'm not sure what exactly she is expecting to hear, but I understand her feelings. As for where...

Solution for mask exhaust noise?

I wear a Quattro full face mask. I have recently changed from CPAP at 13.5 cm to BiPAP at 18I and 14E. The extra pressure is creating much more noise in the mask itself, and it is disturbing to my wife. Does anyone have any suggestions in quieting the mask? A different mask is not out of the questio...
