Re: Emergency Parts

Great idea!
I got a hold of Bellevue Healthcare and they took care of me, But I will certainly remember that for future travel.
Thank you!

Emergency Parts

Hello I leave for a cruise tomorrow. We flew into Seattle last night and when I unpacked I noticed the forehead support on my Resmed Mirage Quattro had broken. I am trying to find an emergency replacement mask today. I called my DME branch (Lincare) in Seattle and was told they can't sell me a repla...

Re: Full Face Mask Reccomendations

Why not post Oscar results for a couple of nights so we can see what's what. You'll need to do it on Imgur.com and post that link here - forum attachments are filled up. Julie, I'm not so tech-savvy but will try. Do I just take a screenshot? Is there a way to zoom out to get more data in the screen...

Hi all, Thanks for the replies! Julie, I'm not so tech-savvy but will try. Do I just take a screenshot? Is there a way to zoom out to get more data in the screenshot? Is there particular data that I should focus on that is helpful for this conversation? https://imgur.com/8VW9Ui9 https://imgur.com/C0...

Full Face Mask Reccomendations

I know this is a highly subjective topic but I am curious about favorite full-face masks There are so many to choose from and I don't know how to go about picking one. It would be great if there was a reference chart that listed the features or design elements for each mask. My situation, over the y...

Re: New Machine, Increased AHI

Great, thank you very much for the recommendations! I will give those adjustments a try and watch it for another week or so. I will also be getting a new mask sometime soon which may also help with the leaks. The DME said she felt I should switch to a medium instead of the large. Maybe that will hel...

New Machine, Increased AHI

Hi all, I recently received a new machine along with some new settings and have noticed a sharp climb in my AHI. Previously I was using a Resmed SV9 VPAP (it's my back up machine now) with an IPAP setting of 17 and an EPAP setting of 14. My AHI was always <2, but also with large leaks most of the ni...

Huge bonus benifit of CPAP- I am better looking!

Maybe this post will help new CPAPers who are struggling with the nighttime vanity issue. I saw my reflection this morning and felt inspired to share. I have been on the machine for a little over a year and I sleep better, my wife sleeps better, and I feel better- but I also look better. I see it ev...

Re: When to be concerned about clear airway events?

Thought I'd post an update for those following the thread or those who may come across it in a later search... I am still working to get me leaks under control, they are slightly under 24 L/min pretty consistently. I reduced my IPAP pressure from 17 to 16 and the CA's have completely stopped. Not on...

Re: When to be concerned about clear airway events?

Thanks again for your replies. My leaks do seem a little erratic. I have a hard time judging since I don't really know what an acceptable leak number is and Sleepyhead seems to auto scale those numbers so I have a hard time comparing day to day since the scale is always changing. Any ideas here? I w...

Re: When to be concerned about clear airway events?

Thank you for your replies! I have only had the S9 since April 19th so I don't have a lot of data, and what I do have is not very consistent. Here are the numbers I have been able to record so far. I used my back up S8 while camping this weekend so I don't have Fri/Sat data. I would appreciate your ...

When to be concerned about clear airway events?

Hello, I seem to be having quit a few clear airway events, but I am not sure what is considered safe or acceptable. I do not know how to post a screen shot or I would share that information. (I know I saw a post with instructions but I can't find it now!) I have a bi-level S9. My EPAP is 13 and my I...

Re: Why is it so much harder to breathe with CPAP mask?

I think in my case, the new mask was so foreign to me that I became overly conscious of it. That caused me to breathe in an abnormal way. I agree 100%. When I first started- the mask, wind, and pressure all caused me a lot of anxiety. I panicked and ripped the mask off many times. I would be fine i...

Re: mask strap's coming undone..

Kenneth, I have had simular strap issues. It is very frustrating to wake up in the middle of the night with a bad strap! I purchased some new velcro strips, cut them to length, and super glued them on. It works very well. Do not buy velcro that comes with an adhesive already applied, that will not b...
