Re: Issues with Swift FX For Her

This is one of the masks I use. I find there is a narrow window between fit, too tight and loose. It took me awhile (weeks, with a subsititute mask in the middle) to figure out what worked for me. From one night to another I might have to adjust the silicone part up or down a notch. I am guessing th...

This is exciting. I'm going to give it a try.

Re: "lecture"

Encourage them to call the patient periodically - at least once a week at the beginning. My DME gave me a machine with a modem so she can look at the results overnight. I'd recommend that to others too, especially at the beginning. Many patients here are very active in their care and monitor their s...

Re: PR System One users - What humidity? (0 - 5)

My setting tends to be about 8.8, humidity dial at 3. I go through about 25% of the chamber per night. I would expect that a higher pressure would cause faster evaporation (windier days cause things to dry out faster) but I would also expect that they would have built the chamber to give enough wate...

Found this, unfortunately they don't seem to have a comparison with the 406. Sigh. I'd like to know the answer too.

Re: F & P Zest petite vs. HC406?

I have a petite Zest (just got it), I have no experience with the HC406 so I can't tell you whether they are the same unit. Is there a measure I could take of the mask that could help you? Maybe if you called the company they could answer your question?

Re: Cardiologist appointment tomorrow.

Thanks to both of you. You were very reassuring. The cardiologist, unfortunately had no answers. Mainly because she needs two more tests before she is sure of anything. Fortunately, she believes that the stress test was likely a false positive (because I am a woman and apparently 30% the results are...

Cardiologist appointment tomorrow.

I'm scared stiff. They noticed a tachycardia on my sleep study back in December. My GP and the sleep specialist said not to worry, these things happen all the time and don't necessarily mean anything. But to be sure my GP sent me for a echocardiogram and a heart stress test. No issues with the forme...

Re: OT: EVER HAVE A PINCHED NERVE IN THE NECK AND SEVERE PAIN?

There are a lot of things it could be. For my husband it was an inflammation of a nerve, initially it was "just" pain but he became unable to move his arm, which he did get back eventually. He needed to have something called a nerve induction test to confirm what was wrong. Don't be shy about asking...

Re: OSA and eye focus

I've had that shift in focus problem for years. For me, it is connected to the eyes being tired and to me being overall tired too. Do you do a lot of reading? Staring at the computer? If you do either, try to make sure that every few minutes you switch focus to something further away (ex. look out a...

Re: Who gave you your sleep apnea diagnosis?

My PCP suspected it 8 years ago but the sleep clinic said no - I wasn't achieving REM sleep but they didn't know why. I also have depression and since that's a bit of chicken and egg as to whether poor sleep causes depression or vice versa, they treated that but I was still exhausted all the time. T...

Re: Mask choices for a narrow nose? That won't bother my teeth.

Thanks, Ozij, those both look excellent. Aeiomed's looks perfect but I bet my stupid nose is too narrow for the medium size. I never thought of my nose as small before I especially like that they keep the tube over the head - keeping it above my head seems to work the best for me with the Swift FX a...

Mask choices for a narrow nose? That won't bother my teeth.

Firstly, I'm new here and have been reading the forums for the last week and want to thank everyone for all of the advice given. Reading other people's questions and answers has already been really helpful. I got my first mask last week, a Swift FX for Her nasal pillow (XS). The next size up was too...
