Re: Using an Oral Appliance with CPAP Really Helped - Details
I have a narrow face as well and after using my CPAP for the first few days, you have me thinking.

Re: After night three...
Thanks, Dori...but they know this already I am sure. Can you get this link to them? It's all there in black & white, basic entry level machine with compliance data only! Please don't be discouraged, it will be worth the struggle in the end. Keep us posted.

Re: After night three...
I guess I will find out!If you have a good sleep doc (or PCP), ask them to write a script for exactly the machine you want, and to be sure the script is dispensed as written (with no substitutions by the DME).

Re: After night three...
Like I said - you compare it to diabetes. As soon as you can go in there with your card and get them to show you the data. The problem is that this DME is not very close to where I live and claim that if I 'mail' the card to them, they can send me back the results. That is just nuts. I think I will...

Re: After night three...
Thanks, BleepingBeauty. Unfortunately I am so tired right now, cranky and feeling hopeless (likely due to lack of sleep) that I don't see this working out the way I want it to. If they say patients don't monitor their stats, what do I say? 'Yes they do.' We can go back and forth like that all day. I...

Re: After night three...
Yes- she said both AHI and Leak Info were possible. However, she seemed firm in stating that patients don't monitor this info on their own.

Re: After night three...
According to the DME, my machine (DS150) is full data capable. However, they said that I would have to send the card to them and they print out the report. I said I know a lot of people who monitor their stats on their own and the rep said she is not sure where they are getting that from. So basical...

After night three...
Woke up with a bloody nose...should I turn up the humidifier?
I also have lines on my face...mask too tight?
Going to call my DME later to ask for a machine that is data capable.
Have a great day all...

Re: Intro...
The jargon that you want is to ask the DME about the terms of their "fit warranty." Some DMEs do not take back the masks that don't fit, but let you keep them. I have a Comfort Gel that trashed the bridge of my nose that I'm keeping for backup, and Swift FX nasal pillows that I am liking now. I thi...

Hey Talon...
I may give the pillows another shot...I just wanted to test the other mask I got from the sleep study.
Can I get that saline gel anywhere like Walgreens or Rite Aid?

Wow...that is tremendous article, RestedGal! I read the first page and will now go and finish. Totally not surprising that this is how the industry operates, but I just hope I can get them to give me the better type of machine.

Thanks, Julie...I already started thinking about getting one of those chinstraps.
And no, the beer is not good right before bed and is not usually part of my routine. I do drink wine every day, but not a lot and not late at night.
