Side Sleeping masks

Hi, I am a side sleeper and, also, toss and turn a lot during the night. I have tried Profile Lite, Comfort Curve, Swift, Breeze, Hybrid, Comfort Lite 2, Aura, and Soyala. The latter, along with a Supportable pillow from Target.com has worked best for me. I have had to make two modifications to the ...

Hi Chuck, I have been using the Soyala nasal mask from Somno Tech for a couple of weeks now. I have about 12 different kinds of mask, and I think this one will become my favorite. For 10 years, I used the Profile Lite mask, and I think it is a good basic mask. However, the Soyala is much more on the...

GERD & Melissa's contributions

Hi Melissa, I have appreciated the vigor of your inquiries and what has seemed to me to be a desire on your part to learn as much, as quickly, as possible. You have been willing to put yourself out there and ask questions that some might have been afraid to ask. Thank you for your contributions to t...

Encore Pro Problems

I agree, it should work without all this hassle. I have never had such a problem installing a piece of software, and looking at the posts over the last several months, I know that Jim and I are not the only ones.

Encore Pro Problems

It must not be the software because it works on one of my computers and not on the other.

Encore Pro Error Messages

Jim, I have gotten the same message before I gave up on getting the Encore Program to run. I have run a register cleaner to no effect. I see you going through the same frustration I did. I think the only hope we have is if someone out there has solved the Pre Release and Cannot Instantiate problems ...

Cannot Instatiate Encore Pro error

Jim, I have the same problem. I have had it since last summer. I was able to get Encore Pro and MyEncore working fine on my desktop, but I have never been able to get it working on my Lap Top. Like you, I know the data base is there because MyEncore works fine. I have gone through the things you hav...

Smart Card Life

Bonnie, I do not know the answer to your questions, but I did have the experience this last week of sending my smart card on a voyage in the washing machine (I forgot and left it in the pocket of a shirt I put in the laundry). It got a good cleansing but is none the worse for the wear-and-tear. Lowe...

Profile Lite Mask

Hi teacherjane, I used the Profile Lite over a period of many years because that was the one I was provided with initially. It worked reasonably well. I wish I would have had my Bipap with smart card so I would have some hard data on leakage, etc.. I guess I would say it was good at the time. I stil...

Encore Pro pagination

Hi jskinner, With my Bipap Auto, Encore Pro has a line break for bathroom breaks, etc.. If the electricity is out, It skips to a new page. I get a new page sometimes when the break is long. For example, if I get up at 1 AM and go to the den and watch TV and have my other Bipap on then go back early ...

Asking MD to RX Auto

Hi NYNurse, Another slant on the weight issue argument in behalf of an auto is to point out, if it is true for you, that you are subject to weight fluctuations and because your pressure needs change with your weight fluctuations, you want an auto. The true implication of this argument is that people...

lower pressure rate on auto

cflame, I think you might want to raise the pressure up. I get the suffocation feeling at 8. I think most people start feeling uncomfortable below that point. It feels like sucking air through a straw, right? It gives one a claustrophobic type feeling. You will be much more comfortable at a higher l...

Swift and side sleeping

Hi Jennifer, The Swift is a good mask for side sleeping. Did you see the post recently from the man that had figured out a way to put the hose up over the head using the small velcro tie that comes with the Swift? It was excellent and had great pictures. I would really encourage you to search for th...

Poll procedure

Hi Kimberly,

Thanks. I will have to try it again sometime. I am still a little confused as to where you put the question, how to structure the choices, how to get the radio buttons to show, etc.

APAP settings

Hi Your settings look good to me. On the low side of the range you need to make sure it does not go to low; e.g., 8 or below. If it is to low, which can be even lower if you are using c flex feature, it will feel like you are not getting enough air (kind of like sucking air through a straw). With th...
