OT: American Educator Week

"Our researched lead us to this, which made us believe that the main reason for using distilled water is to prevent infection of the person?" College? Really? Correct, "Those that can do, Those that can't teach, facts that they were taught by those that can't or wouldn't" November 18-22 is American...

Re: Cervical Collar in lieu of a Chinstrap

I've used a cervical collar for close to a year now to prevent mouth breathing. I had tried numerous chinstraps and also had success with a boil and bite mouthguard. The collar is soft and comfortable, so I barely notice it. Paired with my bella loops, I feel less constricted. It's been the best sol...

Re: Where do you wear your chin strap.

What chin strap and headgear? With the Bella Loops over my ears and the cervical collar around my neck, I almost forget I have OSA. Love it!

Re: Long term update and observations...

Check with other DME's...the upgrade fee isn't OK. Also check with your insurance as they won't be the ones charging the upgrade fee. If yours can get you a new flow generator every 3 years w no proof about condition of the old one, sounds like a pretty good insurance to me (verify that with them). ...

Re: Long term update and observations...

Jaybee, Just reading your post and had to smile about your comment about all the newer S9 models you see on the forum. I read here before I got my S9 and knew that was what I wanted. After about 6 months of reading about folks with their back-up machines I figured I may as well try it as I do travel...

Re: When do improvements start?

Welcome! It does get better, so have faith and keep the patience. It is a lot of work to get the therapy right and to adjust to it. It's a new world. You actually have already had some long hours with the machine. I'm over a year in and had only one night at 8 hours. I finally average 5.5 hours a ni...

Re: Need Sleepyhead help for an iMac-SD card issue

You're off to a great start. I didn't look at the data for a few months...just trying to make it more than 2-3 hours a night with the mask on! Under the calendar you'll see the details and the events. If you want to see the duration of each event, click on the little triangle and each will open up (...

Re: I am trying so hard to make it work!!!!!!!!!

Welcome CurlyMae. You've come to the right place to get help, so hang in there. You've already shown yourself to be extremely resourceful, having 'dropped through the cracks' and yet found a way to get a machine and get it set at your prescribed pressure. I haven't had experience with either the diz...

Re: New Oximeter, CMS50F

I just got my CMS 50F and don't see how I save my data after uploading it (or find it if it's automatically saved). Also want to save a summary graph and don't see an option to save. Can someone help w that?

Re: new to CPAP, intro, looking for hope

Hi forgetcolor, It sounds like you're increasing your time with the mask every night, which is good, but still feeling rotten and still feel like you are suffocating. Here's a link to the S9 clinician manual: http://www.apneaboard.com/CPAP%20Adjustment.htm If the link doesn't work, go to Apnea Board...

Re: Is there a neck collar?

As you can see on photo mine is just a generic, cheap, soft foam collar, sells for under $10 (free from my closet). You may want to find one that's adjustable as I'm sure they are able to accommodate different bodies. I just happened to get lucky that mine fit (held my head in a good position) and w...

Re: Newbie again after 13 years-need advice

Welcome. I don't know your machine so can't answer except to say that the numbers won't necessarily be the same from one brand of machine to another. They figure events differently. You've been back on treatment for about a month now but just recently to the Intellipap. It's going to take some time ...

Re: Is there a neck collar?

I had previously read on the forum that a cervical collar can be used to prevent mouth breathing, so last night I tried one I had in my closet. I've been incredibly frustrated with my leaks for the last 3-4 months. I never had a problem with them until lately, and now every night my leak line looks ...
