Spare mask storage
Hubby got a new Quattro FX (as a back up to his Quattro Mirage) and he hates it - leaks like crazy - probably due to his face-furs. Anyway, I convinced him to keep it as a back-up, but I am not sure the best way to store it safely. If we put it in a ziplock bag, will it adhere to the plastic? Is the...

Re: Hotels and cpaps
I like the idea of bringing a surge strip and extension cord, but has anyone ever had a problem with those items being in the CPAP bag while going through TSA?
Is a long extension cord (10-15 feet) acceptable to carry on?
Thanks!

Re: Perpetual Motion Machine
Okay, We have the toast. We have the cat. (Was it okay to use Smart Balance instead of butter????) Unfortunately, the cat did not appreciate having buttered (Smart Balanced) toast taped to her back. The good news is the bleeding has almost stopped. Feeling too weak to continue... If anyone else is s...

Re: Most of you are a bunch of nice people!
I would like to add my thanks and admiration to the very helpful folks on this forum. Most of us ( my hubby in this case) get sent home with a machine they've been given 20 minutes of instruction on, and told to use it. No support, no assistance, no guidance, no help in the middle of the night. With...

How to test desats? Pulse Ox Machines?
I know that there are PulseOx machines out there, but I don't know anything about them. Do they have data downloads? Software? What does the machine consist of? I've seen them in the hospital, but I don't know what the home ones look like, or how they work. Are there specific machines that work well...

Re: Newbie!
Well, it's been a few nights, but since that second night, hubby hasn't been able to keep the mask on after the ramp period. He keeps springing leaks, and multiple tries to get back on track have failed. We tried reducing the pressure to 12-16, with the logic that not being able to wear it all all d...

Re: Newbie!
Thanks for all the help! Last night went much better - we put C-Flex on, and changed the ramp to 45 minutes. Hubby was able to keep the mask on all night! There was an issue with the humidifier, but I think we just didn't have the heater on it - I'll check on that later. He also says he wants to try...

Re: Newbie!
He was using the Ramp feature - I'm not sure what the time was set to. Also, I think it's set at 16-20 CM (at least that's what the paperwork says - I haven't figured out how to read the machine yet).
Is there a way to tell if the machine is set on A-Flex or C-Flex?
Thanks again!

Newbie!
My husband is the brand new CPAP user, not me. But I'm the researcher of the family, so I thought I would introduce myself and seek some help! I read all the stuff that came with the machine, and we hooked it up last night. We put the machine on an upside down plastic bin, used distilled water, and ...
