Re: Low pressure support alarm in BIPAP AUTO SV
I thought I posted this but looks like I didn't.....Lack of sleep for sure...Anyway...my surgery that will fix the problem is done through a scope and involves whittling down muscles that are hypertrophied so they can work properly. It took a long time to get diagnosed and I finally was by a very go...

Re: Low pressure support alarm in BIPAP AUTO SV
John, sorry to hear that you too have some vocal problems too. The more I use my voice the more I note a change in tone and tremor so by the end of the day or a long conversation mine is shot. Mine should be fixed by a surgery that whittles down the muscles and that is called a myotomy. It is not th...

Re: Low pressure support alarm in BIPAP AUTO SV
Thanks John Fisher for that in depth reply. It has given me some food for thought. I don't think it is positioning and it is not weight. I do and more so lately stop breathing as soon as I fall asleep and it takes more to get started breathing again. I also have a condition where the vocal chords sl...

Low pressure support alarm in BIPAP AUTO SV
During the last week I have been awakened by an alarm that states "low pressure support". What would be the most common reasons for this? I have been on the same settings for months.

Re: Where to add oxygen to BIPAP
Slinky, In my manual I only find two references: One states don't plug the BIPAP into an outlet controlled by a light switch. The 2nd states don't use extension cords. A surge progtector is not the same thing as an extension cord. If I don't use a surge protector the BIPAP will fry when we have outa...

Re: Where to add oxygen to BIPAP
Macewa, My Bipap runs 60 watts which draws about 1/2 an amp in current. If the concentrator is 250-300 watts at 120 volts it would draw less then 3 amps. Most good strips are rated for 10 amps so it sounds like plugging both into one strip would not be a problem. Thanks for mentioning this. I don't ...

Re: Where to add oxygen to BIPAP
Jamis, I think you are right about this. I tried it for two nights...not sure if I had it hooked up optimally but know now from your posts how to do it....and noted better sleep right away...and some subtle daytime stamina improvement. I do have both obstructive and central and those hypopneas that ...

Re: Where to add oxygen to BIPAP
Jamiswolf, So Well, Macewa....thanks for the quick replies. I am glad to have the information. I am not sure if my machine has a built in valve but I think it might. I will for sure disconnect the oxygen before turning off the machine in the morning...and also will turn on the machine before the oxy...

Where to add oxygen to BIPAP
My doctor ordered 2L of O2 to be added to my BIPAP. Long story short I have the connector and tubing and concentrator to do this but am not sure if the connector should go between my mask and tubing or between my machine's humidifier and tubing. Also how long can the O2 connector cord be? I like hav...

Re: ASV users: join the everything ASV thread.
I have questions about emergency power for my BIPAP auto SV Advanced Sytem One. I normally run it with a humidifier but I suppose in an emergency that could be bypassed although I think that would require resetting the humidifier to off. We live remotely and electricity can go off for a week or so a...

Re: SleepyHead Qt v0.8 alpha
!! I am so glad the game isn't over! I am making progress with the new machine. Centrals and obstructives are becoming negligible. Now if those darned residual hypopneas can be reduced. ChrisT I should have known anyone who can write this sort of software would not make a mistake on a % sign.... !!

Re: SleepyHead Qt v0.8 alpha
I have a question about the read-out under "Details" on SleepyHead. Under Details is PB/CSR in a fluorescent green. The number is listed as say 0.44% Journal articles refer to this number in % such as 44%. Is it a redundancy that there is a % sign after listing it as 0.44 or is that mathematially tr...

Re: SleepyHead Qt v0.8 alpha
Thanks Pugsi for the links! Those will be most helpful!! If my understanding is correct, the problem I am having is that the programs are not yet updated for my machine type completely. Evidently the system one BIPAP Auto Servo Advanced takes an extra amt. of fixes in the program for it to be comple...

Re: SleepyHead Qt v0.8 alpha
Latest 0.8.1 version is way off. I just now tried it. Wait till it gets fixed. He is working on Windows stuff with it. Are you sure you got .8.0 or the most recent choice .8.1? Instead of 0.8.1 try using 0.8.0 or one version older. Those are stable. 0.8.0 works fine for me. Hi Pugsi, This is 0.8.0 ...
