Re: Losing mask seal around 1:00 a.m.

Just read about the Pad a Cheek leak strap. It might also help. I'm ordering one today as I get leaks from sleeping on my side.

Re: How did YOU Resolve Your Mouth-Leaks? (poll)

"Actually I didn't switch to a FFM, I switched to a Total Face mask- the Respironics FitLife Total Face Mask. 99% of nights 0.0 leaks." Mary Z Mary, does air blow into your eyes if they're open with it on? Also, how adjustable is it for different face sizes and shapes? I was looking at one since I s...

Re: Report on use of new padacheek anti-leak strap

I always wanted a way to secure my mask in the middle. I'm ordering this today for use with my ComfortGel FF mask. I suspect I'll be able to loosen the other straps a bit too.

Re: Losing mask seal around 1:00 a.m.

"On the other hand, it is possible that your face changes slightly during REM sleep. If that is the case, you could "snug" up and then just apply a little extra in the hopes of keeping the seal as your face relaxes. " This is what I was thinking along with the facial oil thing. I think age is also r...

Re: How did YOU Resolve Your Mouth-Leaks? (poll)

My pressure is 15. A chin strap seems annoying but also wouldn't help me since my lips blow open. I use the Respironics ComfortGel Full face mask because the bridge adjusts to straightest setting I've found and the gel gives me the best seal. I have a small nose and small facial features in general ...

Re: Disable EPR on Resmed machines? Any APAP without EPR?

Thanks for the responses. I checked and actually my S8 EPR setting is at 0. However, the machine still lowers the pressure after each breath. I contacted Resmed and asked how the "Easy Breathe" technology differed from EPR. At first, they said it didn't, but when I pointed out that their literature ...

Re: Newbie question on APAP pressure

I'm a newbie to this forum and high tech CPAP analysis so I'm sure someone will have better advice. Most apneas are worse when sleeping on your back. I recommend you sleep as you did during the sleep study since that's what they used to setup your machine. Also, if you're prone to swelling, you may ...

Re: FFM WOES!

Why didn't the Quattro FX work for you?

The Comfortgel FFM does ok for me because it can be adjusted at lot at the bridge of the nose, but I like that you can tighten the FX at the bridge. I have a small bridge and most masks leak into my eyes.

Re: (Newbie) Just got prescription...need help choosing machine

Have you ever smoked? I ask because someone said that smokers have a tougher time with machines that have EPR easy breathe technology, etc. "I know I like my ResMed S8 autoset 11." I have this machine and it doesn't work for me. I'm an ex-smoker so that may be why. I just sent a note to Resmed askin...

Disable EPR on Resmed machines? Any APAP without EPR?

My Resmed Autoset S8 II machine lowers the pressure too much even with EPR set to 1. I've read a few posters that say they don't use EPR at all. Is that option only on the S9? If it's possible on the S8, please let me know how to disable it. Also, are there any APAP machines that don't have the EPR ...

Re: Can EPR cause apneas?

It certainly does for me. While I haven't been checking numbers, etc. I know the Autoset S8 didn't seem as effective as my S7. Because I couldn't get in the clinical menu at first, I didn't even know about the EPR setting. All I knew was I felt like the machine wasn't helping. That was compounded by...

Re: Questions for ComfortGel FFM users

Just found this info for a new mask I might try. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed-mirage-quattro-fx-full-face-mask-headgear.html?tab=reviews#tab Says: Masks should be washed daily in warm water with baby shampoo and left to air dry. Never use antibacterial soap as it will break down the silic...
