Re: DENVER forum meetup: Saturday February 25, 10am
Hi Ameriken: I'll be at the next meeting. I haven't seen answers to a few questions. First, what's a DME? I cannot find it, although obviously it's a common term on here. Second, I'll see a doctor soon about an APAP, both getting one and lessons on using it. I'd like to go armed with the name of the...

Am reading some bad stuff about DMEs. Please tell me what that stands for.

apologies
I want to apologize to all the members who have tried to help me by answering my posts. On other discussion boards, I'm always notified if I have replies to my message. So, if I didn't get notified, I rarely looked. I got a lot of thoughtful answers and I'm sorry I didn't answer. The Denver support ...

meeting doctor 1 1/2 weeks
I want to be sure I ask for the right machine. After meeting with the Denver support group (wonderful, quite an education), I realized I needed to change from a regular CPAP (no data) to something else. I called my pulmonologist at Kaiser; they said I was due for a new machine. I told them I wanted ...

Waking up with humidifier full??
This seems very strange. I fill the humidifier every night, above the line, and when I get up in the morning and take it to dump out, it seems there's barely any water gone. Every once in a while, it's totally gone -- but more like once a month. Can you think what on earth is going on?

Re: At sea level?
Hi Roger....Were you able to get any info on the sea level question? I've pushed back my trip to Sept; 13. You're in Englewood? Did you catch the big bike race this weekend? I live on Capitol Hill and biked downtown -- it was incredible. They estimated 10K in front of the Capitol at the end, for the...

Re: At sea level?
Thanks Roger -- that would be great if you could ask. I'm going on my trip Aug. 30. I don't use oxygen during the day and when people tell me all those numbers, I'm afraid I don't know what they're talking about. I'm sure I should be much more careful. Love the picture of NO....I'm from Alabama and ...

Re: At sea level?
thanks for the replies. My doc just retired. I've had several sleep tests, but none recently without the oxygen. I went to take a sleep test at a hospital and it was laughable. I have restless legs, made worse by my own brain when I'm under stressed or feel trapped -- I got into the hospital bed at ...

At sea level?
I have central sleep apnea and use a CPAP with an oxygen feed. I live in Denver, but will be going to L.A. for a few days. I plan to take the CPAP, but wonder if it's okay to not worry about that oxygen concentrator. I asked my doc, a pulmonologist, what would happen and he said he'd never seen any ...

More on Central Apnea
Thought I would report back after my post last week (hi to Rooster -- you were such a help). I had been diagnosed with central apnea (caused my taking Methadone which was prescribed from Restless Legs Syndrome)... and after that diagnosis, got little help, still feeling miserable and not sleeping (a...

Central Apnea doc or hospital?
Hello: So glad to find this place. I posted for the first time yesterday about being diagnosed with central apnea. I use a CPAP with oxygen feed. This is apparently caused by taking Methadone to treat Restless Legs Syndrome. I wish I'd never taken anything to treat RLS -- the drugs only cause horrib...

Methadone cause?
Would appreciate any comments on what's going on. Right now, I'm sitting here afraid I won't wake up tomorrow. Fifteen years ago, I couldn't sleep. Jumped up all the time; finally self-diagnosed Restless Legs Syndrome. Doctors knew nothing; most people made fun of it. Long story short: I met others ...
