Re: Oximiter: Contec Med'l Systems CMS50D+
Thanks everyone, Major problem was caused by my failure to notice the green heart icon. There was a gap in my desktop icons. So, when the application installed it dropped the green icon in the open gap and put the red icon at the end of the list. My attention was drawn to the red icon; I overlooked ...

Re: Does anyone scuba dive or snorkel?
Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. I'm a SCUBA diver. Assuming you don't have a full-face SCUBA mask you simply have no choice but to breath thru your mouth. You arn't going to breath thru your nose. You have a lifetime of habit of breathing thru your nose. That you breath thru your mouth for 45...

Oximiter: Contec Med'l Systems CMS50D+
Hi All, Just received my Contec Medical Systems CMS50D+ pulse oximeter from China. Having a problem with down-load. If anybody has this model, or a similar model, who can help me with my download I'd appreciate it. I've used the oximeter for a few minutes; installed the software, connected the cable...

Re: thoughts on need for oximeter
Every household should have three things: A fever thermometer, a blood pressure cuff (sphygmomanometer) and an oximeter. Oximeters are becoming so inexpensive, it behooves us to buy one if we can afford it. . . . . At a price < $100, I agree with DreamDiver. The problem isn't so much what is your O...

Re: Why doesn't PM work now?
Do you click on the add button or the find a member line? You can't just simply type the name in the box and send. The recipient's name has to come up above the box and will have a small delete symbol next to it. This might have been the problem. I think I typed the name in rather than find a membe...

A newbie view of what the CPAP community needs to do
Hi all, Just began to read Definitions - Abbreviations - Terminology - Acronyms by rested gal. My heartfelt thanks for this recap of available resources. I noticed "Obstructive Sleep Apnea CPAP get smart fast" by Mile High Sleeper Gal and began to read that. This is a wonderful resource; something l...

Why doesn't PM work now?
I've tried repeatedly to send a PM. The composition window always: takes the To: member name prompts for the security code takes the [Send] returns with an error that there was no recipient named this time does NOT prompt for the security code accepts the To: member name takes the [Send] returns wit...

Re: How to interpret my data?
. . . You were most likely NOT at that pressure setting for most of the entire night: Rather, that's the pressure at which (for that night) all events disappeared for however long you were at that pressure, and you may not have been at the given pressure for a substantial fraction of the night. For...

Re: How to interpret my data?
Thanks everyone for your input. I'm not convinced that my CAs are pressure-induced. Let's review what we know of my case. My titration indicates one CA event associated with a higher-than-prescribed pressure. Clearly, that event could have been pressure-induced; or, it might have been a rare event w...

Re: How to interpret my data?
Hi All, Back from doc. Got my two previous sleep studies and titration. Here are the points I take to be important: Study 1:Mild OSA, AHI=14.3 but supine AHI=55.5, O2 nadir 80%, <90% for 2.3% of total sleep time Study 2: Moderate OSA, AHI=22.5 but supine AHI=62.1, O2 nadir 75%, <90% 5.2% Titration: ...

Re: How to interpret my data?
Hi everyone, This will probably be my last interim post before my meeting with my doc tomorrow. I've learned so much from all your help that my head is beginning to spin. It may spin even faster for a while digesting whatever my doc might tell me. I have data for 5 days at 8 cm, 2 at 10 cm and 3 at ...

Re: How to interpret my data?
. . . look for SYS One resistance, this is the mask resistance setting(1-4 I think) only Phillips Respironics masks will have correlating numbers, for Resmed or other brand masks you have to find a similar one, ie nasal , nasal pillow, by pillow size, of full face, in PR And use that number. Thanks...

Re: How to interpret my data?
Thanks Ozij, Yes, good points. I have neglected to mention that I have an appointment with my 2'nd doc scheduled for tomorrow. So, it's not that I'm ducking the professional avenue of inquiry in in favor of the forum. Quite the contrary, I'm using the forum to better prepare myself to make the best ...

Re: How to interpret my data?
Of course the one thing we haven't asked is... How are you feeling? Thanks for your concern. Maybe I'm feeling better; however, I hessitate to put any stock in my subjective sense about how I feel. Some people have a good sense of how they are feeling; I'm not one of them. I think I have a bias tow...
