Re: Variance in AHI readings
The LCD read cpap 9.0. epr 2.0, ahi 3.7, ai 3.4 and centrals 2.7. AHI = AI + HI AI= Obstructive apneas + Centrals So I thinks this means that with an AHI of 3.7 and AI of 3.4, my HI (hyponpnea index) = 0.3 AI= 3.4 = OA+Centrals = OA + 2.7...this gives OA = 3.4-2.7 = 0.7, so in summary, AHI =3.7, AI ...

Re: Variance in AHI readings
Had a great 9 hr sleep last night, maybe it was becos I had only 5 hrs the night before. The LCD read cpap 9.0. epr 2.0, ahi 3.7, ai 3.4 and centrals 2.7. My only comment is that it appears the centrals have increased from the usual reading of about 1.7. I'm gonna stay on these settings for the next...

Re: Variance in AHI readings
Still on the sbject, can someone tell me what the following "terms" mean and what's being measured?
Flow,
Flow limitation,
Minute ventilation and
Snore index
How can the S9 measure snore when there's no microphone or audio in it?

Re: Variance in AHI readings
Hi Pugsy,
If we discount the awake time, then my AHI would be 3.3 and I think the centrals would be spaced quite far apart. Don't have the data on me as I'm in the office. Will upload it later when I'm home.
Regards,

Re: Variance in AHI readings
Hiya, Last night my S9 was set to 9.0 with EPR 2.0...after 5 hrs of sleep, i put the machine on standby and had a toilet break, read the AHI off the LCD screen. It read 3.3. After this, I put the mask back on and resumed the S9. Could not sleep for the next 2 hrs, read the machine again, AHI was rea...

Re: Variance in AHI readings
Dear gals and guys, Thanks for all your great responses and support. Like i said earlier, i'll try reducing the epr to 1.0 tonite. I don't have a next scheduled appointment with the sleep doctor. After the sleep study, he directed me to the Resmed vendor and that was the last I saw of him. This was ...

Re: Variance in AHI readings
Yes i agree ....66.8 down to 10.6 is a big improvement. Now the trick is how to get to below 5.0. The sleep study was done at a major sleep centre under the care of a qualified and experienced MD, who said, after getting the results, that I should start cpap therapy right away. But after hooking up ...

Re: Variance in AHI readings
Thanks for the feedback. The sleep report mentions"no abnormalities" in the ECG test. Hopefully this means the old ticker is still "good". BTW I'm a 52 yr old male, apart from the recently diagnosed OSA and being a bad snorer for the past 30+ years, I don't suffer from other health problems. My BP i...

Re: Variance in AHI readings
Thanks Pugsy...I might try lowering the EPR to 1 or 2 tonight. Last night AHI was 5.5 on same pressure settings (9.0), EPR 3.0. There was no mention of centrals when I did the sleep study. The sleep report is shown below. What are centrals and how serious are they? http://i1135.photobucket.com/album...

Re: Variance in AHI readings
Hi, Attached are my sleep results from last night, much appreciated if someone could tell me what I'm doing wrong here and how I can get the AHI lower. Thanks in advance, http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m627/famjt/S9%20Reports/report.jpg http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m627/famjt/S9%20Report...

Re: Variance in AHI readings
Yes you can read Leakage off the LCD screen. To do this you have to press on both the info and setup buttons for 3 seconds, then you can access the sleep report and read the leakage there.
