Re: Two questions...
Aerophagia. That's what it is. I had a LOT of this when I first starting to use CPAP. I know exactly what you mean by your description of gas used during surgery. I have had laporoscopic abdominal surgery 4 times. It is very painful! When I first started on CPAP, every morning I would sit on my recl...

Re: New To CPAP and it's Costing Me My Health
As a fellow nasal spray addict, I have a suggestion regarding them. I tried a system that I found online, called Rhinostat. It is a titration withdrawal system. You order the exact type of medicine that you are addicted to, then gradually dilute it with saline solution so you don't suffer the extrem...

Re: Sommnomed Dental device??
Thanks for the advice. I looked at my recent sleep study results and My AHI was 11 per hour. I have set up a consult appointment for next week with an Oral maxo facial specialist that makes the devices. So, we'll see.

Sommnomed Dental device??
I was just wondering if anyone has tried using a Sommnomed dental device for OSA?? This is not a self treatment item. It is made by a dentist to fit your own mouth. I tried one that was self treatment and returned it because I couldn't fit it effectively. But I really hate CPAP therapy, and after 5 ...

Third night with new machine
I have used my new machine for three nights. At first I liked it. But now after 3 nights, the water in the humidifier hasn't gone down at all, I've had the humidifier set on 4 and I am bone dry and have a headache and sore throat. Clearly something is wrong. I had my humidity level on 1 on my old m...

Re: First night with new machine..
My mistake. The machine I posted, I thought they were giving me, isn't what they gave me. Did that make sense?? I am new to all the different types of machines. I don't really know what is the difference between A-flex and c-flex. All I know is the machine felt great last night, so I am happy. The m...

Re: First night with new machine..
I got a Plus with C-flex. The info is right. I had an old M-series before. I had to look at my booklet. But this is right.

First night with new machine..
So, last night was my first night with my new machine. Best sleep I've had in a while. I didn't think my old machine was loud, but I now realize that I was hearing more of my own exhaling than I did last night. They did adjust my pressure somewhat. My OSA has actually improved in the 5 years since I...

Re: newbie needs advice on getting used to cpap
I have been using CPAP for about 5 years. For me, it took a good month to get very comfortable with the therapy. I kept pulling the mask off in my sleep. Don't give up. I never could get used to the masks over my nose, and use a nasal pillow mask now. Are you using a humidifier?? Your nose shouldn't...

Re: New machine for me!!
Thank you all for you responses!! I will have to take a lot of time to figure this whole thing out. I am not very computer savvy, but luckily, my husband is. I will let you know how I am doing. I am glad I am not new to CPAP therapy. I have been using my basic machine for 5 years, very successfully.

Re: New machine for me!!
I was afraid of that. Now to justify spending $100 to my husband, just to know how I am doing. He says. " I can tell you how you are doing, I sleep with you every night. You're doing fine." Big help.

Re: Mirage Swift™ II Nasal Pillow CPAP vs. Swift FX
I have tried quite a few different nasal pillow masks. The one I always come back to is the Mirage Swift II.I like that it holds snugly to my face, also, the pillows are single layered. I have had problems with the pillows that have dual walls. They collapse on me.
