Re: A Tale of Two Sleep Labs
Roster, I have the Weinmann SomnoBalance, which apparently does show the data if it has been set for this (to be read by patient). I can try to get my doc to do this when I see him at the end of the month. It shows RDIs, not AHIs, but I guess that doesn't make much difference.

Flonase
Like many others I have a problem with stuffy nose at night, and have read here that Flonase is a possible remedy. My pharmacist tells me that I shouldn't take it "too long," though, whatever that means. I don't think I have allergies but have been carrying some sort of bug that seems to travel up a...

Re: A Tale of Two Sleep Labs
Thanks for these responses. It makes me feel better to know that I am not the only one to have had this experience. I have a good deal of confidence in my second doctor, and I am doing all right with the APAP 6-15, and trying to sleep on my side. I think I'm stuck with my machine (Weinmann SomnoBala...

A Tale of Two Sleep Labs
I would just like to see if others have had similar experiences. This took place in Germany within the last two months. At Sleep Lab No. 1, where I spent 4 nights (two without a mask and two with a nose mask), I was diagnosed with severe apnea (RDI 51.5/h). With nCPAP pressure of 14.6 the second two...

Does more pressure help with stuffy nose?
This morning I woke up with labored breathing due to a stuffy nose. With some salt water nasal spray, after a half hour or so my nose was clear again. I know that one should attack nasal stoppage or stuffiness directly, with sprays and humidifier, and possibly consider a full-face mask, but my quest...

How to avoid back-sleeping
This has probably been discussed before, but I can't find anything. What is the most effective way to avoid or learn to avoid sleeping on your back? I know about the tennis ball method, and an improvement on that is supposed to be a vest with a bolster built into the back (advantage being you don't ...

Yoga and other exercises
This has been discussed briefly in other threads but I thought it would be useful to have one for this subject alone. I have found a number of relevant links, and I am wondering if anyone has had any experience, positive or negative, with any of these suggestions. Obviously there is no hard data and...

Re: Weinmann SomnoBalance vs. ResMed Autoset S9
Thanks, ozij, this is helpful. The consensus does seem to be that increased pressure does not help nasal stuffiness (not total blockage), but from what you say the ResMed S9s do react to it. So I am wondering anyone has had experience with this (everyone gets a stuffy nose occasionally, don't they?)...

Re: Weinmann SomnoBalance vs. ResMed Autoset S9
Thanks. Great to get such quick feedback. I will pursue the points you make. I have a much higher AHI on my back ( 2.8 ) than on either side ( .8 ) -- wearing the mask -- but I can't tell from the data sheet I was given how much pressure was used to achieve these results. The doctor did advise me to...

Weinmann SomnoBalance vs. ResMed Autoset S9
I'm a newbie here and to CPAP -- APAP now because my first doctor prescribed a 14.6 CPAP with full-face mask, and I did not have full confidence in this person so I went to another sleep lab with a much better reputation (deservedly so, as I have concluded), where I was prescribed for a 6-15 APAP ma...
