Cpap supplies, delivered or mailed by DME's?
Do alot on this board get their mask replacements tubing filters etc ...by mail or do their DME's deliver them. I heard some get an Auto Delivery. If so, do you have to sign up for that with your supplier and do they call each time they mail them out? I'm curious since our DME is going to a mail del...

Re: New to Cpap and Modem question
Try putting the power cord to the machine the farthest away from the back of the machine. The wireless modems have a problem with the square transformer in the power cord assembly. The wired modems also have a tiny reset buttun on the side of them. Not sure if the wireless has that same button as we...

Re: Cleaning distilled water reservoir
Some DME's sell the germicidal disinfectant for the resorvior tub. Imo, i would waste not the money. White vinegar ( acidic acid) will do the trick. Its inexpensive and found at any grocery store. Try one pt white vinegar and three parts water. Let it soak for 20 minutes, then rinse out throughlly. ...

Do you have CSA as well as OSA? The ASV has pressure support which may have decreased your AHI.

Re: Machine broke...what do I do in the meantime?????
If you choose to try the urgent care route, make sure the RX has your pressures, and your diagnosis as OSA. Call another DME, with that Rx in hand maybe they can help you out with the same Type of unit you have. Remeber that usaully they only sell the humidifier. Maybe you get get just the same cpap...

Re: DME billing question
It really depends on the DME company. Lincare is a national chain and they do there billing through corporate offices, smaller DME's need the cash flow so they are more apt to bill right away. If you have say Medicare, the humidifier mask and disposables are billied as a purchase. The cpap machine i...

Re: System One
The system one by Respironics has a flaw that occurs in the intake, It doesnt happen on all of them but the flow intake can cause noise when you exhale thru the machine. The company is developing a new one with the help of Bose to curb it, Not sure how far down the line they are talking about, the sy...

Re: Need an outside opinion on leaks....
You have a very minimal leak ratio. The Fx is a great pillow device but the ventilation holes are very small and sometimes will cause the mouth to open on exhale. If it were me I would not worry about it. Alot of folks toss and turn each nite w/ a variety of masks worn and leaks can be inevitable wi...

Re: Need an outside opinion on leaks....
The Swift FX has three sizes of pillows. Have you experimented with each of them? One size may be a better fit. The chinstraps that are out there are very soft w/ velcro on the top. You may be able to angle one on after you put on the FX.

Re: Stinging nose.
With that amount of pressure you might sugest a FFM. Even if it doesnt't work out you can switch from the nasal if leaks are still a problem. The Flexifit Forma series by fischer paykel has the thickest interface which seals alot better than the Quattro line imo. Try a saline spray just before bedti...
