Overtitration a possiblility on Resmed AutoSet S9?

I am a relatively new CPAP user. It's been about a month since I have gotten my machine. Originally I had the pressure set to limit at about 10 I believe as max pressure. My AHI was 31 at diagnosis and dropped to 2 with the original setting. My sleep doc thought it would be good to open to open the ...

My first followup with the sleep doc.

Went really well! I have reduced my AHI from 31 to 2! They adjusted my pressure a bit and my Doc believes that we can do better than that. I had only one minor leak. I average 7 hours per night. 2 weeks in and I am feeling worlds better. I can't believe that this has been what has pained me for the ...

Re: CPAP POLL

Since this particular poll was very informative for me as a new user, I believe it would be good to know how long for the treatment to take effect.

This might spawn another poll.

Re: Managing similarities between OSA and depression?

I thought I might chime in here. I am currently being treated for OSA and generalized anxiety disorder. I have only been using CPAP for 10 days but i have been taking an anxiety medication for 4 years or so. As of a few weeks ago, it was almost unbearable to be at work. I would have panic attacks fo...

Re: CPAP POLL

Thanks to all who are voting. I voted Great! I am only in my second week of treatment but so far, I am definitely feeling the changes. If it continues to improve, I may change my vote to amazing. PS. I think this poll helps newbies see that there is an overwhelming majority of users who feel better....

Re: Train yourself to keep your mouth closed?

I don't know if you might have seen my other post in a different topic, I have found that I don't need my mouth sealed shut. All I require is gentle pressure on my lips to prevent the air from blowing out. I have been using a bandana, rolled over twice. I tie it off around the back of my head and th...

Re: CPAP POLL

I am sorry to hear that. Have you tried the new systems? Or, are you just judging from the fact you first tried a 15 year old machine? I recently began my CPAP treatment and find it rather easy to comply. It seems that surgery on your toungue with a screw would be worse?

Re: Is waking up TORTURE? Looking to commiserate... :)

Meghan, I feel your pain. I am much the same way. I have never been a morning person myself.
I started CPAP a week ago and it wasn't until last night that I could sleep through the night.
I can't say I jumped out of bed this morning, but I felt more alive. I have hope for tomorrow.

Re: Looking for advice. I am a new CPAP user.

Success! The bandana worked like a charm. It did slip off once during the night but otherwise, i slept all night long. It might have been the first good night's sleep I have had in 10 years. I have this overwhelming sense of calm this morning. Thanks for the suggestions, I will check them out. I may...

Re: Looking for advice. I am a new CPAP user.

Sorry, I have since signed up for the CPAP community. I am DingerTater no longer.

I figure at least I can breathe through a bandana in worst case scenario. Tape kind of freaks me out.
It should just add the gentle pressure I require to seal my lips. I will report back tomorrow.
