Re: 3 Month Update and Some S9 Questions
I'm using the same settings on my S9 Autoset (7 - 20 and EPR = 2), and have been for the past 9 months. I have no appreciable noise. The only other user variable is the filter, have you check it recently? I've only ever used the climate hose with excellent results. Its the only way to utilise all t...

Re: 3 Month Update and Some S9 Questions
Also mine does makes the same sound on exhaling ... Yes, the sound is when I exhale. Maybe I'll just wait to see if it gets any worse. Also, another interesting observation - whenever I would nap before, I would almost always snore loudly. Now when I take a nap (without CPAP), I'm told I don't snor...

3 Month Update and Some S9 Questions
I have just made it to 3 months on CPAP. Overall I've had great success along with only a few challenges. I think I've had OSA for a long time. My wife can testify that I have snored loudly for years, and it was when she noticed I stopped breathing for long periods at night that she insisted I get c...

ResScan 3.13 going from S8 to S9
I just upgraded from the S8 Elite II to the S9 Autoset. Will I have to create a new file in ResScan, or will it combine my data files for both machines? (I don't want to lose my old data.)

Re: Help with first appointment post CPAP
My situation was very similar to yours. Titrated pressure of 8 cm gave me about the same AHI of yours, with mainly clusters on the reports and also a history of events being worse in REM sleep. Gave a good case for the doctor to advise APAP which I already had but now had doctors blessing to have t...

Re: Help with first appointment post CPAP
You guys are so helpful. Thanks. Do you have a copy of your sleep/titration study? Did they actually titrate you during REM, because if they didn't, and you have having REM at home now, then the titrated pressure may not be high enough. Also, if you are using EPR on your Elite II, that is lowering t...

Help with first appointment post CPAP
I will have my first appointment after getting my CPAP with my ENT (prescribing physician) in two days. I have a few questions for him and would appreciate any advice on these or additional questions to ask. 1) I am still seeing AHIs of 4-8 most nights that are clustered together. This is consistent...

Re: Accuracy of CPAP AHI scores?
My AHI values from the machine range from 4 to 8. While that doesn't sound too bad, I am one who has nearly all my apneas/hypopneas when I try to enter REM sleep. (REM AHI of 30-40 from my sleep studies). IMHO, in the case of REM-dependent (or mostly dependent) OSA, the overall AHI is not a good in...

Re: Accuracy of CPAP AHI scores?
My leak rates also seem to have gotten worse. Early on they were typically less than 0.1, but lately the numbers are in the range of 0.4. Maybe that's part of the problem. What is normal? When was the last time you replaced the mask, the mask cushion (the part that seals the mask) or the pillows if...

Re: Accuracy of CPAP AHI scores?
As for the software and data card cable, where do you find it? Everywhere I look says it is not available. The software can be easily found. Look at member Uncle Bob's posts and check his signature. Data card cable could be more difficult since suppliers no longer carry the S8 series machine they d...

Re: Accuracy of CPAP AHI scores?
I have discussed with the sleep lab, and I have a followup appointment with the ENT coming up. Over the phone, they suggested trying some different masks to get a lower leak rate.

Re: Accuracy of CPAP AHI scores?
I do not have the software or USB adapter to read the data. I am getting it all from the display on the machine. Sounds like it would be worthwhile to invest in it. Will it give a plot of when the apneas/hypopneas occurred like I got from my sleep studies? My leak rates also seem to have gotten wors...

Accuracy of CPAP AHI scores?
I have a Resmed S8 Elite II CPAP that I have been using for a month at 7 cm. My AHI values from the machine range from 4 to 8. While that doesn't sound too bad, I am one who has nearly all my apneas/hypopneas when I try to enter REM sleep. (REM AHI of 30-40 from my sleep studies). Is this value trus...
