Re: taking off mask while asleep

I did this for a while. I tried the 'alarm method' where I would set an alarm for the middle of the night. If I woke up and the mask was on, I just went back to sleep, but if I woke up and the mask was off then I would put it back on, then go back to sleep. It's kinda counter productive, making your...

Re: Headgear is changing my skull???

I think that over time, my mask is starting to move my lower jaw back a little. I think it's the slight pressure from the chin strap. My teath certainly feel as if they fit together slightly differently.

Probably not bad thing, I've always had a big chin!

Re: Poll: What sleeping position/mask/pillow works for you?

Like most, I'm using nasal pillows and on my side - although I do also swap between my left side, right side and back throughout the night.

Re: CPAP POLL

I was told by the consultant CPAP would change my life. Some time on, has it? Well, I live in he same house, with the same woman, have the same job and have roughly the same amount of cash in the bank. So, in those terms - no. However, I can now read a book without falling asleep and a whole bunch o...

Re: looking for nasal pillows with a beter head gear

I use a responics nasal pillow and have been getting along great with it. Even though it became apparent I was wearing the headgear inside out! Still, with it inside out the straps came ON my ears and the whole thing was very secure. Wearing as advertised is still not as secure as the wrong way. So ...

Re: 3 weeks into my committment to CPAP-still some issues.

I have been using a respironics nasal pillow for some time and have now been given a new nasal cradle. It leaks less, but does not stay in position as easily as you roll around. I now flip between the two.

I went from being a sleepy, grumpy with little positive to say to smiling and generally being much happier. I have even been known to smile!

Re: A couple of question about position of hose.

I run my hose over the top of the bedhead and then down to my mask (nasal pillow).

I find this much better than any other position I have tried for two reasons. Firstly, I never get tangled in my hose anymore as I roll orpine in my sleep and, secondly, I don't experience rainouts.

Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.

I was diagnosed in 2010 and started CPAP in October. It's had a massive impact on my life and although the mask is a pain, it's worth it. So much so, that I wrote about my experiences in detail to try to help others and this has now been published in the Amazon Kindle bookstore. I'm still working on...
