Re: Warm air is uncomfortable...
Tony..I think you have a handle on it. If you don;t want "heat" to the water in the humidifier chamber, just turn the knob to "OFF", but keep the water in the chamber. Thats called "passive humidification". The temp of the air that arrives at your nose will be the same as the room ambient temp..

Re: Bottling Distilled Water
Any container would do, if the intent is to downsize the bottle. A rinsed pop bottle would do. How about just using the tap water. Unless you are in Mexico or it has been deemed un-drinkable, it would be perfectly safe. No different then breathing the humidity of the tap water while taking a shower.

Re: Rain out....now what?
Yep, put your CPAP/humidifier on the floor, or at least a foot below you pillow/head level. The cozy hose warmer is also recommended. Make it yourself (I used $.50 worth of flannel from cloth shop. ez make. works great. No rainout.

I have and use a ResMed Quattro which works well for me as an alternate to pillows. Fits good without leaks.

Re: Any reason to not use smartflex(pressure relief)full time?
I can't imagine any reason to not use it full time if you are so inclined. It is a user comfort feature. Most machines and/or manufacturers have 2-3 different setting levels for your use. The more the comfort, the more you will use the machine, and the more benefit you will receive.

Re: new guy here! having loss of pressure
Hey louie..I'm riding in the same boat as others here. I don;t think we have CPAP blower problem. Your trials with those CPAP units has been frustrating I'm sure. Its something wrong with your masks ..and/or.. hose. Check for a hole in the mask cushion or pillows part and check real good for a possi...

If you are female, take a hair clip (pin) and attach it to the mask strap and your hair.
If you are male, borrow the above mentioned product from the female and follow the above instructions. Works.
In either case...reattach the mask to your face.

Re: Data From Last night One month on CPAP
If you look at where your snores occur; they appear to be just after your 'p' breaks and where the pressure is somewhat lower (around 6-9) on the way upward. Once your pressure is up to your avg and/or 95% mark, they dissapear indicating the CPAP is doing it job of opening your airway at 9 to 10cm o...

Re: Apnea to hypopnea RATIO?
Converting apneas to hypopneas is only getting 50% of the job done. Your body will still struggle (however) lightly, if the hypopneas are reducing your intake of O2 thats needed. The perfect (if only in our dreams) solution is complete irradication of apneas, hypopneas and a clear airway.

Re: Data From Last night One month on CPAP
Pretty enviable read-out. AHI avg. well below the standard benchmark of being below 5. Since you are going back to Doc soon, I wouldn;t tweek. BUT..If I wasn't going back to a Doc soon, I think I would tweek the bottom pressure to 10 and put the top at 14. As Pugsy suggested, the present set great p...

Yep, winter time is the time to cozy up. I made three of them last year. One for each length of hose that I have. 6'. 8' & 10' lenghts. I have less then $2 invested in them. Scrap flannel from cloth shop.
