Re: Large leak - machine off??
On your machine type there is an "Auto On" and "Auto Off" feature. If the "Auto Off" is set to "On" it will turn the pressure off if their is a very large leak exceeding a predefined magnitude (I don't know the exact rate), which it will interpret as the mask being off your face so it doesn't keep b...

Re: Total Average Leak Rate on PR System One (Spikey Graphs!
I think your average leak is much better because you had fewer leaks, which is great. Your graph looks better because of the fewer leaks, but mostly because the scale changed from 0 to 150 to 0 to 250 making the magnitude of each leak "event" look smaller when they are actually about the same as bef...

Re: mask/pillow combo for side sleeping?
I found I get centrals with the FX and LT when I sleep on my side and the exhaust gets covered by my pillow. This causes CO2 to build up which causes heavier breathing too. To keep my hose from yanking on my mask and causing leaks I secured it with an LT hose strap by feeding the strap through the s...

Re: Total Average Leak Rate on PR System One (Spikey Graphs!
With mouth breathing usually (nothing seems to be always with sleep apnea) you'll see a higher vibratory snore (VS), yours is almost non-existent. Sometimes what I do to figure what kind of problem I'm having is to test what I suspect. It's easy to do just lay down with your mask while you are awake...

Re: Total Average Leak Rate on PR System One (Spikey Graphs!
From your data it really looks like a mask leak issues, which in my personal experience are caused by either mask fit, mask stability which comes from improperly adjusted headgear or even your hair length/composition (fine, oily, etc.) or hose your hose tugging on your mask when you move around. If ...

Can you post your charts again? It would make it easier to comment.

Re: Sleep Study Results - Help Please
Your numbers look great on your side/face down, but it looks like they didn't get to study you sufficiently on your back/face up. While your numbers show you don't have OSA on your side, OSA is usually worse for people while sleeping on their backs. Many things besides sleep apnea can cause fatigue ...

Re: Total Average Leak Rate on PR System One
Dad, Your charts could have been mine before I started getting control of my leaks. Your baseline looks good and it looks like at least some of your apneas are being cased by leaks. I would suspect you have a mask issue, being the hose pulling on the mask, a lousy mask, head gear stability problems ...

Re: What are accepatable numbers for AHI and Leaks?
Leakage can cause problems with AHI, but not only how you think, it can at times cause false readings. If your AHI is currently correct it is too high, as far as I know they try to get it below 5.0 to be considered effective treatment. Vibratory snore is caused by a few things, I'd have to look up t...

Re: Central Apnea caused by too high pressure / oxygen
Here is a good article on Sleep Apnea from MedicineNet.com http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=1982&pf=3&page=1 It describes the different forms of Sleep Apnea well, including Central Apnea. Here is an excerpt from the artical: "Under normal circumstances, the brain monitors se...

Re: Sinusitis
I've had the same problem. If my humidifier is too high or too low (relative to room humidity) it causes me problems. Too high or wet basically causes high production of mucus. Too low or dry irritates the nasal passages resulting in inflammation and of course mucus as well. Also, to reduce potentia...
