Re: Does Respironics calculate AHI the same as ResMed?
Machines have improved over the years....the detection is better now than it was years ago. Even if you went from ResMed to ResMed a you would find improvements.....Several years ago I was using a ResMed S8 and my AHI ranged from 3-5. When I upgraded to the S9 my AHI immediately dropped to a 1.5-2....

Re: Back to a DME afer a long time without . . .
I like Nationwide Medical. I've used them for several years for CPAP supplies and got my first machine from them three months ago. They're very professional and provide great phone support. If it were my first time, I'd probably choose someone with a local office, but they're great for an experience...

Re: Does Respironics calculate AHI the same as ResMed?
To answer the question posed in the Subject line........Probably not. For one thing, over various periods, a person's AHI and other events can vary. So, unless you could wear the two identically configured machines simultaneously, there would be differences. Their algorithms are probably somewhat d...

Does Respironics calculate AHI the same as ResMed?
I used Resmed CPAP machines for almost 20 years, but got a Respironics Dreamstation (APAP) last fall. From the research I did prior to deciding on the Dreamstation, I know they use different algorithms to determine how much pressure to use during the night, but I figured they would probably be prett...

Re: Frequency of Follow-up Visits
I received a new CPAP (Auto-set s8) a year ago and have had great results. I did a follow-up visit at six months and all the data was great. I'm still sleeping great and have no problems, but my doctor is basically demanding that I come in for another follow-up visit (a "card" visit, as they put it...

Re: Frequency of Follow-up Visits
Thank you for the feedback. The six month follow-up seemed a little excessive to me - especially coming after a follow-up visit that was nothing but good news. The whole process seemed very coercive to me . . . I received several phone calls from the doctor's office insisting I come in for a visit a...
