Re: Got a call from my CIGNA and Carecentrix today!
But guess what ? They use CRAPRIA as their sub-contracted DME supplier. So now, not only do I have the displeasure of dealing with CareCentrix, but I still can't get away from CRAPRIA. Why is everyone so down on APRIA ? I have them as my DME, as they have been fantastic in every way. The RT have be...

Re: Hatin on the Facehugger - feel Apnea is self-inflicted
Gees, this is such a negative tone I noticed in your post. I can understand... it's not been cheap, or rosy, going down this road. Whether the road means getting old, dealing with health problems, or specifically CPAP treatment, I'll leave it up to you. But I'm glad you're venting here. I hope venti...

Re: Smartwater
Save the fancy water for drinking. Distilled water is super cheap (since it's not ideal for consumption), and it's what all humidifiers call for. I have an el cheapo home humidifier that I've put tap water in and after two years it has this creepy yellow scaley stuff on parts and a sticky almost-oil...

Re: Just a whine/blatant bid for sympathy
I understand exactly where you're coming from. Just don't give up. I started out on a Mirage SoftGel mask and thought I could find better... so I got a Swift FX nasal pillows mask with all size pillows, and a Circadiance SleepWeaver cloth mask. Two nights of hell, waking up constantly either due to ...

Re: I apologize to those whom I have irritated
Posts I don't care about don't irritate me. I skip over, skim, or totally avoid threads that I have already read or don't care about. As you know, any reaction is still a reaction. You get a reaction from people, including me--I'm actually entertained by you making a fool of yourself, which is why I...

Re: Should cpaptalk Be Divided Into Categories or Subsections?
There are obviously going to be good and bad examples of both categorizing, and lumping-it-all-together. Sometimes even on the same site. That's why FLEXIBILITY and reevaluation in how things are organized is *key* to organization. It's just like setting up a filing system at work, school, or home; ...

Re: Should cpaptalk Be Divided Into Categories or Subsections?
Every growing forum eventually has to make sections and/or categories. Some go too far, some not enough. Look at some huge forums like macrumors.com or xda-developers, a couple that I frequent. They have many categories, and it works for them. I would say that cpaptalk needs at least two forums: CPA...

Re: Face cream and cpap . . . DON'T!
Maybe it's just "too much of anything can cause seal problems," because I have the opposite issue. Oily skin, use an astringent, never a moisturizer (though sometimes acne treatment, nothing caustic where my mask goes anymore). If I use too alcoholic an astringent and get more oil off of my skin, to...

In healthy human beings with healthy lungs, exhalation is not a result of muscular, effort, it's a result of result of relaxing the muscles (see " The mechanics of breathing " in the Encyclopaedia Britannica). By giving a person lower exhale pressure, you emulate natural breathing conditi...

Re: new cpap user, picking dme, asking for s9/apap? help?
I have a machine, and a mask. I want control over having the ability to purchase a mask anytime I want it, on my own, no insurance involved, even though I have insurance. I want to have the ability to purchase a machine, any machine of my choice at any time in the future if I want to change machine...

Hahaha! Well, it is good to have options right? Thankfully I got a call back from the DME and they are sticking with the "Oh, we just didn't understand what you wanted! Oops!" story - that's okay with me - and I am heading in tomorrow to get my S9 AutoSet! Moral of the story, you really will have to...

Re: new cpap user, picking dme, asking for s9/apap? help?
Brad, my fellow 6-pack lover (the abs, not the beer)... I confess that I didn't read the whole story because I'm too tired. But why are you concerned about whether it's in CPAP mode or APAP mode as long as you get the Autoset? Once you have it, you can set it to whatever mode you like. I'm sure I m...
