If they are a good DME, you will be able to try on a variety of masks at pressure. That is what they did for me at the DME, they would adjust it and try to stop any leaks. I was then able to choose which mask I wanted from that expererience. I found that invaluable. Of course the down side for me is...

I have said for a while that all these anti-bacterial soaps etc are bad for kids because they don't build up immunity. Guess I was right all along. Thanks for the article!

I think that the mask is probably going to be your key here. Masks are a highly individual choice, and it may take you a while to find the mask that works best for you. I love my Aura Headrest, I sleep on my side with no problems. The only bad thing about it for me is the mask is highly prone to rai...

It is more likely your DME and not your insurance company who has a problem. Insurance has 1 billing code for CPAP and 1 billing code for biPap. Because of this, DME's will try to give you the cheapest machine they possible can. Is it the DME who says that the insurance company won't approve it?

Jeff, welcome to you and your very ugly but durable mask to the forum. When I first got my CPAP, I went to my DME and they let me try on and try at pressure every mask they had. It was wonderful, and that is how I found my headrest, which I absolutely love. Masks are a very individual decision, and ...

What kind of mask are you using? Some masks are more prone to rainout than others. The Aura has a known problem with that. It is my favorite mask, but the rainout is a problem. How much hose do you have exposed to the room air going from the heated hose to your mask? That may be your problem.

I've been having that problem off and on. For me, I think it is from drooling in my sleep, because usually when I have that problem I have woken up drooling.

Re: zyrtec

I picked up some at kaiser. one hundred tabs for $9.00. It is the generic (cetrizine). I don't think you have to be a member to get that price. The generic works the same as the brand name for me. Try to google cetrizine to see if you can get a better price. Deb Thanks for the info. I was just sooo...

Zyrtec is out over the counter

I knew it was coming out soon, but I just bought some at the store. It was on sale for $18.99 for 30. Definitely more expensive than the generic claritan, but Zyrtec works soooo much better for me and my insurance wouldn't cover it when it was prescription. Just wanted to let everybody know. Woo-Hoo

What kind of apneas are you having? You can only get that from your sleep study. Sometimes higher pressure produces central apneas. When you have a central apnea, you don't try to breathe so the pressure doesn't help at all. Do you have the results from your sleep study? If not, get a copy of it fro...

Is it an M or a tank? I think all the lights on the tank are green, I haven't seen a blue light, but I have an auto not a biflex. How old is your xpap? You should be able to take it back to your DME for repair or replacement, they have a 2 year warranty on them.

I do have to add to my previous post that it seems like you are looking for excuses and validation to quit. If that is what you want, you won't find it here. Its not easy, sleeping with a thing on your face is not fun. But we aren't going to help you quit. We all rely on our xpaps to keep us healthy...
