Re: First Night with S9, Promising but Problems

You're correct. My S8 Auto, started off at my lower pressure limit (7cm), while the S8 was set at a ramp pressure of 4cm. I adjusted the starting pressure on the S9 to 7cm - problem solved. So far, my AHI has been improved considerably w/ the S9. I can't say that I feel a whole lot better yet as it'...

Re: First Night with S9, Promising but Problems

Has this issue gotten any better for you paolo? Last night was my first night with the S9 (I've been using an S8 for the past 4+ years) and I also experienced similar issues to what you described in #1 of your original post. I felt that there was little or no air pressure, and I actually felt claust...

Even if the weight is almost the same, I hope the M Series has a smaller carrying case. I got a chance to see what the current RemStar case looks like when my DME tried to dump a used machine on me. I have the ResMed S8 Vantage which is tiny compared to the suitcase she lugged into my house to setup...

Your right about the equipment in my profile. The devices are listed alphabetically and there was no S8 Vantage in the list. After looking a little more, I found a listing for Resmed S8 Vantage. There was no determination on pressure during sleep study. That is why my pressure range is pretty broad ...

Hypopnea Index Help

I guess I don't have a very good understanding of what the hypopnea index measures and how to get the number down. I know the definition describes reduced airflow, but is this like holding your breath? My AI is usually pretty low, but it ranges from about .5 - 3.0, but my HI can range from 2.0 - 10....

As promised. American Home Patient is the DME. I just looked into how they have been billing my insurance company and they are billing under both American Home Patient and Ancillary Care. It looks like they billed over $700 for my rent to own S8 and 1 Ultra Mirage FF on the day I picked it up and ab...

I think they should bill for the RT's time - not jack up the prices 300%. I have been having trouble with my DME. Today the brought me a USED RemStar Auto C-FLEX. The only manual was a photo copy of a non C-FLEX model and the filter looked very used and they weren't going to supply a new filter. Thi...

I Need Advice on Which Machine

I posted yesterday about my discovery that my S8 Vantage could not provide EPR while in Auto. My doctor wanted me to try the EPR (or C-FLEX) to see if it helped relieve some of my discomfort and claustrophobia. I have only been on treatment for about 50 hours and I am still struggling with exhaling ...

UPDATE: Just got a call back from my DME. Looks like the Account Exec. I ran into at the doctor's office has instructed the manager at the DME branch to take care of "whatever I need." They are calling Respironics to order the RemStar Auto M (or to find out exactly when it will be available). We'll ...

Exactly. I did get his business card. He wanted to do whatever I needed to make sure I was going to keep quite.

He said someone will contact me tomorrow morning. I plan to follow up with him just to make sure.

I post an update after I hear from them.

I called Respironics back to get a model number, and it appears that the RemStar Auto M will not be released for another week or so. Lori was mistaken. If you go to Respironics.com and click on the RemStar (not the M series) and then click any of the devices on the RemStar page, you will be re-direc...

Is my DME Full of You Know What?

I just found out last night that my S8 Vantage does not provide the Auto (6-16) EPR (3) that my doctor has prescribed. The EPR is not an option when the machine is set to Auto. I called the DME to point out the mistake and am now getting a run around about correcting the problem. I found that the Re...
