Re: Side Effects: What are they?
I've been using my cpap machine for almost 4 months, and I love it. I wake up more functional, and am able to accomplish more through-out the day. I am chronically ill w/interstitial cystitis(IC) and heart disease (chronic angina) and I find it easier to deal w/the challenges that these illnesses pr...

Re: Anyone with 15 ahi?
My AHI w/o the machine is 15, and with it, with the pressure set @ 5, it is 0.3. I have some other health issues, and struggled w/crippling fatigue for a really long time, thinking that the cause was chronic pain/heart problems/med side effects. Whether or not your mood problems come from the sleep ...

Re: Two weeks w/CPAP and seeing improvements!
Welcome to the forum. I am so glad to hear that your CPAP treatment is working and you are seeing benefits already. In my case I beginning to think that "CPAP treatment" stands for; Canadian Patient Awaits Proper treatment. I am not so anxiously awaiting my final data analysis and prescription for ...

Two weeks w/CPAP and seeing improvements!
It has been close to 2 weeks since I started w/my CPAP and I am beginning to see some improvements, much to my delight. I have a chronic bladder disease called interstitial cystitis (IC) that causes intense pain at times, and heart disease, and for a long time I thought the crippling fatigue I exper...

Re: CPAP Aromatheraphy
A friend gave me some little sachets of dried lavender flowers for Christmas, and I put one on my bedside table near my CPAP intake and it was lovely! Lavender is one of my fave scents, and to be wrapped in it all night, so to speak, was awesome. I also found myself feeling congested and opened up a...

Re: French Canadian newbie here ;-) first night tonight
Welcome. I've only been here a week myself. I live in Godmanchester (near Huntingdon), and just got my machine last Tuesday. Last night was my first night sleeping right thru, from 10:30pm - 5:00am, w/it. Then I went back to bed and slept until 8. It takes a while to get used to having the mask on, ...

Re: A nap without my pap
Thanks, Roster, that explains a lot. I think at this point I am so used to feeling exhausted that I'm, like, what's one more night? But it makes sense, that once one has experienced some healing and is used to feeling normal, going back to this kind of fatigue, even for a day, would be hard. Like ha...

Re: A nap without my pap
I've only been using my CPAP for 6 nights. The first 2 nights, I used it for 4 -5 hours a night and then took it off because I couldn't get back to sleep w/it, and I was exhausted. Now I use is and am comfy w/it for all sleep, including naps. I'm not noticing a marked improvement in how I feel yet, ...

Re: C-PAP and Pets
Oh gosh, that is just hilarious! We have 2 dogs and 2 cats, and they are all wildly gassy. The cats are huge, 9 month old brother toms, aptly nicknamed The Farty Brothers. Nobody sleeps w/me tho', so I think I am safe. I did put a lavender sachet near my filter this a.m. It'll be nice, tonight, to s...

Re: Some nights I just can't use the cpap
I had to stop using the ramp, because it made me feel out of breath. My pressure is 10, and the ramp was set at 4, which was just too low.
Hope everything gets settled soon.

Re: Long sleep times
Oh gosh, I'm a wee bit...okay, a huge bit jealous! I've only been on my CPAP 2 nights, and am not used to it yet, so the sleep debt I carry combined w/the lack of sleep for the past 2 nites is seriously messing me up. I'm so tired right now, I am shaking. The thought of sleeping for 12 hours straigh...

I'm 44, and I've been using my CPAP for 2 nights.
And yes, I'm frikken exhausted. But I slept 4 hours straight w/it last night, so that's progress.

Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.
Hey there, my name is Kelly and I am new here, too. Last night was my first night with the CPAP machine. Egad. I am exhausted...like, seriously. I have heart disease, had a heart attack when I was 37 (I'm 44 now), have a chronic bladder pain disease called interstitial cystitis (IC), and just assume...
