I would just use bottled water for a few days, um, actually I do. I have even used tap water a few times.
Maybe its just me, but it seems to me we over-think what water to use.

Re: Filtering out fumes
How can you work on a tugboat and use a CPAP? Does that seem odd to you? I am in the same boat, pun intended. I sail as the engineer aboard a 110 ft. 4300 hp tugboat based out of NY City. I use a CPAP, but Im still a newbie at this only having used it about a month and a half now. Im sure my accomm...

Susan, thanks for the response and explanation to my question. Im a bit 'frugal' myself, thats why I was leaning towards focusing on the gen as a cheaper but not necessarily easier solution.

Re: How Long Before You Slept Through the Night?
Thank you for a timely thread, after only 3 nights on CPAP I am also still waking 2-3 times each night........I am however pleased in that already I am feeling better and have more energy than I have in a long time.........I'm managing between 7 and 8 hours of sleep with the CPAP each night so far!...

Re: trying the mirage quattro for the first time
Check out "Taming The Mirage Quattro" in my signature. It should help. Thats some very helpful info Jan. I too just started using a Quattro mask and Im really on the fence about using; I want it to work, but its rough on my nose bridge and the blowing into my eyes is ultra annoying. I'll try fittin...

Re: Poll: How Often Do You Clean Your Tank?
Ive had my machine just over a month now and have cleaned the tank once using vinegar followed by a wash with generic baby shampoo.
I use distill water at home and bottled water when Im out working on the water. No problems....well, with the tank anyway.

Ok, Im really not following the need to spend $470.00 to adapt your golf cart to supply you standby power when you have a generator. (yes, I read your not wanting to have to deal with it in the middle of the night.) If the power were going to be out for many hours or days as is common in Texas, (I l...

Re: Dry mouth and snoring while using CPAP
Would you consider taping your mouth? I resorted to this a few weeks after starting my therapy and reading about it on here. I was using a nasal mask, but I knew I was mouth breathing, taping worked very well and I had no more dry mouth. During a follow up visit to my sleep center, I mentioned in pa...

Re: Flying with CPAP
I have flown twice since starting with CPAP in December; I had no issues, the machine comes out of the carry case at the security check, everything else stays in the clear pouch in the cases cover to which I have taped on the folllowing note: "Please DO NOT touch my MEDICAL equipment without putting...

Re: Do you use heated or cold water?
Does anybody else use a cover on their humidifier?
I have a cover on mine, dont know if theres any actual benefit to doing this (as in heat retention) but it makes me feel better.

Re: New CPAP user, Swift FX with very dry mouth, full mask req?
Im currently using a nasal mask and also breathe thru my mouth, so I have been taping my mouth shut for the last week or so, this works very well. I was at my sleep study center today for a thirty day follow up; I mentioned I was taping my mouth, oh the looks I got. I was sent home with a FF to try....
