Re: New to cpap (2 weeks)
Daisy, You might want to try a different mask. It took me around 6 masks to find one that I can live with. You have a great attitude and I know you will be fine. The mask is such an individual thing. It will get easier with time. And there are so many good people here that are willing to help. Good ...

mark190,
If you have trouble exhaling against the air flow as I did you can ask the tech to put the machine on c-flex. It made all the difference.

carojae,
Congrats on your new mask. I agree that the mask can make the biggest difference. The machine is secondary.IMO

Re: Tried out the Softgel Nasal Mask
Marky,
Sounds like you have every thing adjusted too tight. If you have to torque down on the headgear then something is not right. The nose bridge angle seems to be the key for a comfortable fit. My frame is an Activa but the cushion is a softgel. Wish you luck.

If you like the Respironics nasal mask you might want to try the Resmed Mirage Softgel. I tried both and liked the Softgel better.

Re: sore nasal bridge
Since I'm always trying to find the perfect mask I gave it a try a couple of weeks ago. Too many leaks for me. Sent it back. You might want to try the Resmed Mirage Softgel Nasal Mask if you haven't had a chance to. Good luck with everything.

Kenny, which nasal mask are you trying? Someone here might have the same mask.

Re: Tried out the Softgel Nasal Mask
I've been using the softgel for over a year and love it (if you can love a mask). I've tried several others including the comfortgel and can't find anything that I like better. Good luck.

Re: Best mask for side sleepers?
The Resmed Mirage Softgel nasal mask has been the best mask for me. I've tried about 6 masks and have stayed with this one for over a year without any real issues. Just make sure the vent doesn't blow against anything like a blanket or sheets as this can sometimes fool you into thinking you have a l...

TomJoad,
I tried about six masks before finding one that I could really be comfortable with. You might want to consider the Resmed Mirage Softgel nasal mask. Finding the right mask is such a personal thing but is the key to good results. Good luck with therapy. It gets easier with time.

Have you tried adjusting the angle of the forehead support? It works for me.

Re: Help sinus pressure!!!!! First night
Finding the right mask for you is the most critical part of your treatment. It usually takes trying several masks before you settle into one that is comfortable. It gets easier with time. There are a lot of good people on this site that can guide you along the way.

Give the Resmed Softgel a try. I have very few leaks on my side. Just make sure you keep the sheets away from the vent and it is very quiet.

Re: Question about Mirage™ SoftGel Nasal CPAP Mask
jettblack,
I bought a Softgel cushion and put it on my Activa frame. I also have a Mirage Micro and find the Softgel more comfortable. It's a little more bulky than the Micro and the cushion almost touches your upper lip but I use it for my mask of choice at the moment. Hope this helps.
