Re: Huh?
No worries. I'm going to go see my regular doc today and see about getting some bloodwork, including a thyroid profile, done. He has actually tried Provigil, Nuvigil, Vyvanse, and Concerta on me but they didn't make a dent on my sleepiness.

Huh?
I went in for my 3 month checkup yesterday. My sdoc had set my apap to a pressure range of 10-16. Unbeknownst to him, I knew how to access the data and had the software and card reader to monitor my progress. My AHI was consistently near 10, with and AI of 2 to 3. So, on the advice from this forum, ...

Re: Does cpaptalk.com help?
When I first started cpap, I never knew about cpaptalk.com and I had no idea about the machines, data, DMEs.......I was lucky to get a good DME and an S8 Elite. I gave cpap up after a few months because I was still tired, hated the machine and mask............ This is my second time on cpap. I found...

Re: Is there a way to stop dreams?
I keep having these crazy dreams where I am trying to talk to someone and it comes out as a gravelly purr. If I awaken, I am usually breathing through my mouth! Too bad I can't tell myself in my dream that I need to close my mouth!

Re: How do you know if you feel as good as you can?
I haven't reached it yet but the ones on this board that feel energized every day tell me that that is the goal you and I seek. Not being enormously sleepy during the day, not gasping for breath at night, lower blood pressure, no atrial fibrillation......those are the benefits i now have and are wha...

Central apneas on S8 apap
I've noticed on my Rescan data that I have no central apneas. Do I really have none or does the S8 not record centrals?

Re: High AHI
Great news! I have slowly been increasing my lower pressure by 0.2 increments and now have an AHI of 6, with and AI of less than 1! And I actually feel like I have slept! Thanks for all of the good advice!

Re: High AHI
Thanks! I look forward to the day when I awaken refreshed and energetic. It feels like I have just closed my eyes when it is time to get up, no matter how many hours I sleep!

Re: High AHI
A 2-3 AI is quite good. If it's an S8 you have they overcount HIs. Some have suggested cutting the HIs by half to get an HI reading that is closer to that on other models of your machine and on other brands if machines. Raising your minimum pressure may help with HIs but they will always be higher ...

Re: High AHI
My average pressure is around 11.2. I still feel pretty rotten in the mornings. I can sleep 14 hours at a time and still feel like I have had no sleep. Guess I need to adjust the apap, eh?

High AHI
I finally got a S8 card reader and downloaded my recent data. My AHI is usually around 10 with a 2 to 3 AI. I notice a cluster of obstructive apneas around 4 a.m., which I think is when I am in REM sleep (how can I tell if that is true?). I also notice that I have a LOT of HI's throughout the night....

I'm curious. How do you know it's a troll and not a legitimate post? What exactly is a troll?
