Re: Advice please re: DH denying sleep apnea
Yes, I did record him one night. You could hear the snoring, silence, snorting, gasping, etc. He just laughed it off! I regularly debate moving to another bed when he keeps me awake at night, but the thought of unplugging my cpap and carting everything and setting it all up again just seems like too...

Advice please re: DH denying sleep apnea
I could use some advice. I was finally dx in December with sleep apnea and the cpap is doing a great job. I have more energy and am sleeping better......except when I wake to DH's snoring, gasping, jerking, etc. I've told him I think he has sleep apnea. He has high blood pressure, low testosterone, ...

Re: 1st follow-up appt. w/ sleep doc:went well
Thanks for your help! The appointment went well. Sleep doc was impressed with my journal and my knowledge! Was pleased that I was in control of my treatment. Said it looked like I didn't have a problem with compliance. Turns out that my apnea is on the severe scale with an AHI of 45; although my air...

1st follow-up appt. w/ sleep doc: what to do?
I have my first follow-up appointment with the sleep doctor tomorrow. I haven't seen/spoken to him since my first referral appointment back in October. I had my sleep study in November and started CPAP on 12/7/10. I'm in my 7th week of treatment. The worthless DME never sent an SD card; therefore ne...

Re: Cleaning the equipment
I use 7th Generation unscented dish detergent. It leaves no residue and no scent. I have also used Dr. Bronner's unscented soap, and that does well also; it does not suds up much though. I like the small, labeled bottle that I could use for traveling, if I ever get the chance to go anywhere, that is!

Re: Sudden increase in AHI?
How long have you been using your mask? Another thought, since you said you feel like you are just getting back into cooking and cleaning, is that you are just plain old tired! Sometimes, if we are over-tired, I think numbers can be effected. Or, what about mouth breathing? Have you possibly starte...

Re: Sudden increase in AHI?
"Or the the 2 or 3 bad days in a row are the earliest symptoms I'm getting sick---even before the congestion sets in." Yikes, I hope that's not the case!!! I feel like I'm finally getting back into a routine of cooking and cleaning after the kids are back to school. I really, really do not want to h...

Re: Sudden increase in AHI?
Sorry I didn't make myself clearer! The 11 day average was just my computation of the previous 11 days. All the AHI data taken directly from Encore Viewer for each day, not an average. I went back 11 days only because all other factors were fairly similar: Remzz's mask liner, no hose cover. But sinc...

Sudden increase in AHI?
My AHI had averaged 1.5 for 11 days. Wednesday night it increased to 3.4 and last night was 4.1. I have done nothing differently the past two nights. What would cause the AHI to increase so much?

Re: Does a hose cozy really prevent rainout?
I made a hose cover out of remnant fleece to help lower the vibratory snore rate. Unfortunately it has added considerable weight to the hose. I find it tilts my mask if it's not positioned just right.

Re: Long sleep times
I'm on day 10 and I just love to sleep!! I crave sleeping. I just want to skip dinner and curl up in bed with my cpap. I am sleeping a good 11-12 hours per day. I'm hoping that I'll be over this by the end of Christmas vacation as I think DH would like me to get back to driving DS10 to school in the...

Re: Fibromyalgia and OSA POLL
I've only been on CPAP for 11 nights so I can't really say there's been any change. I sure am hoping and praying that I will be able to say it's improved a lot soon!

Cloth Mask Liner?
I started using a cloth mask liner (home-made from 100% cotton) on Friday. It was a short night for me after DH's office party. I used it again last night for a longer sleep. The mask was comfortable, but I couldn't really tell if it was leaking or not. I didn't get that rush of cold air. Maybe beca...

Re: sensitive teeth
My upper teeth were quite sore the day after I had tightened my headgear too tight. The nasal mask had slipped and was putting pressure on my mouth. Since I've loosened the mask and let the silicone seal do its job, I've not had any tooth pain.

Re: My first cpap charts
It was a miracle just getting him to return to the doctor. One step at a time! The increase in pressure seems to be helping. I'm still sleeping a good 11-12 hours though and don't really want to get out of bed. Not depressive, just craving sleep! CA: 0.3 OA: 0.9 H: 1.1 FL: 0.0 VS: 56.6 RE: 3.2 AHI: ...
