Re: Resmed S9 reporting over 20 hours use per day
The first time I encountered this, disconnecting the power plug resolved it. The second time it happened, I had to get a new machine.

Re: Controlling OSA with weight loss??
Since being diagnosed in 1997, my weight has fluctuated by about 150 lbs. First down, then up, now down again. Through all of that, my pressure has only changed between 10 to 12. I suspect that the ability for weight loss to impact OSA is dependent on at least the baseline size of the airway and the...

Re: Leaks and there meaning
athematically speaking, "average" and "median" are not the same thing. Practically speaking, do you really think the difference between the two has any real meaning in regards to leak rates, especially for a newcomer? And while it's reasonable to aim for Median=0.0 and 95% = 0.0, getting the Max=0....

Re: Leaks and there meaning
median = 0 means that your average leak was 0. 95% = 0 means that for 95% of the time you were using your S9, you had no leaks. max = 19.2 means that for less than <5% of the total time, you had a sizable leak(s). Resmed considers anything below 20 as manageable (meaning the S9 can compensate for it...

Re: Camping Battery Setup for an Resmed S9 Autoset
...Figuring out how much charge is left in a battery is very difficult to design an accurate circuit for. ... Actually, that isn't strictly true. What is almost impossible is to create an inexpensive circuit to accurately measure remaining charge. http://ztsinc.com/ makes several testers that are a...

Re: S9 Autoset SC Card Capacity?
I'd like to say thank to the OP and those that have responded to this thread. I've been doing it all wrong and just assumed that everything was working correctly because I'd still see some of the detailed charts in days that were older. First, I was using the overwrite, rather than discard during u...

Re: S9 Autoset SC Card Capacity?
As I mentioned in Pythone EDF library – To read cpap machine datalog files , I want to try to clear up at least some of the confusion regarding the Resmed S9 SD data card and the limits of data storage on it. As many of us know, Resmed states that 365 days of summary data, 30 days of detailed data, ...

Re: Need to keep ResScan downloads hidden, help!
On discard vs overwrite, it is referring to data being copying into ResScan from the card, not the data on the card itself. Unless you need to overwrite data inside ResScan that you've already downloaded into ResScan, using the discard option. What that means is that data that is pulled from the car...

Re: S9 Autoset SC Card Capacity?
I put together a post back in February to explain this in detail, but I never did get around to posting it. When I get home today, I'll pull it off my other computer and post it for everyone.Slartybartfast wrote:.. So why the need for such capacity if the S9 only utilizes a very small part of it?

Re: Resmed S9 Problems.....Can you help?
According to my DME, the replace hose error message is due to a known issue with some batches of the S9. I was warned about it when I picked up my S9 back in November. Luckily, I haven't had a problem so far.

Re: Is it safe to use CPAP in a lightning storm?
If you have a machine with a modem, unplug the phone line when there's lightning in the area, even if you leave the machine turned on plugged into the power line. Interesting. I'm not sure how I would do that. Do you know how my machine is set up? Is the phone line the piece I remove when I take ou...

Re: What is the Average Lifespan of a CPAP machine?
My first machine, a Nidek Silenzio, had over 30,000 hours on it when it died last November. 13 years, 10 beyond the warranty. It didn't collect data and was straight CPAP, but it did it's job far beyond what it was designed for. It was worth the $2000 it cost in 1997. If my S9 makes it 3, I'd consid...

Re: why does the humidifer chamber need replacing so often?
My first chamber was used for 13 years. When it was replaced last November, it wasn't out of need. It literally looks new. I wanted to try the S9's H5i, so that's what I'm using. The funny thing, is that after trying a range of temp/humidity settings, I'm using it in passive mode. Should have kept t...
