Just bought my CPAP machine
I used a PR APAP machine for my at home titration study, then tried the ResMed for a week. I didn't like the ResMed because the tank kept drying out halfway through the night, and I couldn't access the sleep data as easily as I can on the PR machine. The ResMed is a bit quieter, but the newer model ...

Re: Leak Alert--Anyone Tried It?
I was using a Phillips Resperonics APAP from my provider which had leak alert. I really found it helpful. I am now trying a ResMed machine which doesn't have leak alert. I miss it.
I think its a worthwhile feature.

Re: Problems with ResMed humidifier tank on new machines?
Yes, I was thinking that I should keep a bottle of water handy to refill it partway through the night. I can't add a room humidifier because we get condensation on the windows if the humidity is any higher. I do hope that the Resmed machine will be better. I'll know in a few nights. Day 4: I've been...

Re: Problems with ResMed humidifier tank on new machines?
My husband is at the provider right now picking up a ResMed for me to try. I can't wait to compare it to the PR System One that I was using up till now. (I'm still stuck in the house because of a hip/back injury, using my wheelchair fulltime this past month. So I can't even get to the office to see ...

Re: Problems with ResMed humidifier tank on new machines?
That sounds like the issue she was describing. She also said the humidity tank is rather fragile compared to the Resperonics unit, in addition to this popping open. Do you find the Resmed durable other than this issue? As I have no insurance, I have to make sure I buy a machine that will last and be...

Problems with ResMed humidifier tank on new machines?
My dealer says I can choose between the Resperonics, Resmed or Fisher Paykal machines, (I want a data capable machine). I was going to try the Resmed for a few nights before I decide. I've been using a Resperonics machine during my titration study and I prefer the C-flex+ setting. She wanted me to t...

Cpap.com ship via the Postal Service and that is what you want since, with a courier, you have to pay a brokerage fee. If you shop other than at cpap.com, check out that they will ship it via the Postal Service. Thanks for the tips Hawthorne. I still don't have my prescription yet. I'm going to hav...

Don't forget to press the large round button once when you select a setting, otherwise it doesn't change.jbn3boys wrote:Then scroll to ramp, and see if it is on or off.
Its a good idea to write down what the settings are before you change them.

Re: Switched from CPAP to APAP last night.
These older studies are used by the Ontario government guidelines here in Canada to make getting an APAP more difficult then just CPAP. I'd like to see this info too, as I'm having the same problem. Can't get APAP even though I was doing much better on it. I was able to tolerate the machine a lot b...

Re: Need help with Forma mask leaks
The sleep lab technician recommended the Ultra Mirage and Mirage Quattro very highly to me when I had my sleep study done. I also tried the Forma at the lab and liked it better. When I got my loaner machine to do my at home titration study (which still isn't complete), I tried both Mirages again and...

Re: Re:
Someone gave me this tip and it has been helpful so far. First, I should state that I don't use the ramp feature. When you put on your mask, wait for the pressure to rise. When it has reached the correct pressure, put your fingers in your ears and swallow. After that, you can swallow and pressure d...

Full-on type-A control freak mode has been engaged... and you don't want to get near the spreadsheets I have when that happens, you'll have a hard time escaping the gravity well that they create.... One reason is they have half a zillion different conditions ... to deal with. As a patient we have ONE, or just a few, conditions to deal with. .... "Jack of all trades, master of none." I'm not trying to excuse them, just trying to point out there is another side to the issue... True. But this is ...
