Re: Now I get DME frustrations! UGH

Hi Mike - great advice. I did try "dialing" the mask in and out, and could get a decent seal from time to time... I left out the crucial detail that my nose bridge is thin, and has been broken several times. I really liked the quattro overall, but my readings from the S9 data card ...(probably not a...

Now I get DME frustrations! UGH

So I got fitted last November with my CPAP gear, including my mirage quattro FFM. I requested Auto Delivery for monthly replacement pieces- and received instead supplies for "Nasal Swift for Her" pillows. That wasnt gonna work to replace my quattro cushions! So I called about the error, and visited ...

sore throat after missing CPAP tx one night

I removed the headgear from my mask to clean it yesterday, and then when I was ready to get set up for the night - the headgear vanished. It was late, I was tired, so decided to skip a night. I have the most horrible sore throat today! (along with exessive drowsiness).. I finally found the head gear...

Re: newbie question - CPAP pillows - worth the cost?

For me yes. I cannot sleep without the CPAP pillow. Regular pillows are uncomfortable for me, as I am a side sleeper. I definitely think it is a good investment. I have the contour CPAP pillow, about $60 us dollars, and I love it....I sleep very nicely with it.

DME sent wrong supplies

Ugh - i selected auto delivery for my CPAP replacement pieces - and got "nasal pillows" as a replacement cusion for my quattro FFM.

Will have to be on the phone and suspect the post office to correct this.

Re: First look at Resmed Quattro FX

I checked out the videos and information. It looks alot more comfortable to wear. Everything I want in a FF mask - no prongs up my nose like a hybrid, yet the clear line of vision so I can read a bit before falling to sleep. However, what a pain it appears to take apart all those peices to clean! AN...

Re: Poll: Do sleep studies & sleeping pills mix?

I voted yes. I dont take a sleeping pill, but do need an anti-anxiety (they are pretty much the same thing). I wouldnt have slept without it for my study. This factor did not interfere with my study results. I had sleep apnea, got fitted with the CPAP, and subsequently the apnea reduced. Now I can s...

forgot to put water in my humidifier

Hi - I checked to see if this was posted previously but did not find anything.

Last night I forgot to fill my humidifier tank with water.

Does this damage the machine?
I have Resmed S9 and use the climate line tubing.

Re: "Drug Induced" Sleep Apnea?

I know the goal is to get people off antianxiety and antidpressants. And many people can do that and be successful with other coping mechanisms and a strong support system. I have tried several times to wean myself of these medications - which cause weight gain, drowsiness, and memory loss. I my cas...

Re: Red irruption on nose Quattro

Thank you blackspinner -
how do you make the gasket? Cotton sounds like that would help better than plastics. I think contact dermatitis is exactly what is happening.

Re: Red irruption on nose Quattro

This is great information. I too am having the same problems huge red welts on my nose. and not just there, but my chin and forehead are stating to have breakouts. I wear a ff mask. The comfort gel pad is not helping much. I have been using cpap therapy for about a month now. I am wondering -should ...

Re: Anyone here had a septoplasty? (poll included)

I had the procedure done about 8 years ago. The procedure itself was not bad, but I had terrible problems with bleeding - had to go to the ER so he could fix it up with some wire patches. After it healed, I noticed no more colds, but no change in snoring. Of course - I then broke my nose again 2 yea...

Re: Machine seems to have turned itself off - is this possible?

I too have woken up and found my machine mysteriously off. Once when I took my mask off for a brief 3 minutes, i replaced it, and felt air - which turned out to be the "cool down" pressure - and another time - I dont know what happened....It was just off...I am pretty sure it was on when I went to s...

Re: How long is the process?

I agree this timeframe is not right at all. I had my sleep study on a sunday (i was able to make it a split night study), and saw my doc 8 days later for the results. I was fitted with my machine and mask right then and there at my results appointment - since the DME was onsight that day.. I think y...
