just goto my computer right click the drive that pops up, and choose format drive (make sure you select the correct drive) also make sure you reset the machine first becuase otherwise it will rewrite everything to the card

the data will write to the card as soon as it is put in, ie you put it in, wait till the message is gone, data is now on card.

For waveform the card needs to be in, to see it daily you need to remove and read the card daily.

yes right around 1.5-2 weeks I had the same feeling, you are getting used to it in the morning, after a little longer it feels pretty natural when you put it on.
