Hi Lennyten, I have an S8 AutoSet Spirit and I was never titrated by my hospital, they just said "Try 6" although I find 6 is too lower setting for me. My hospital suggested 8cm didn't understand autotitration machines and how to modify the machine and put me in touch with ResMed and speaking with R...

It is quite normal for a lot of air to come out of the exhalation. Prior to the Activa, I had the Ultra Mirage Full Face mask and I thought that was a lot but nothing compared to the Activa. Depending on how I angle the hose, I sometimes wake up in the night with a very cold arm (like it's been in a...

Re: Rub Marks on Bottom of Nose from Activa
I am trying out the Activa mask which seems pretty comfortable. However my biggest issue is that the mask is rubbing on the bottom of my nose...right between the nostrils. It is very uncomfortable and I can't seem to find a way to avoid it. It is not the outside seal that is rubbing, it the harder ...

I am trying to go to bed earlier but have run in to a problem it seems no matter what time I go to bed I wake up six hours later. Hopefully I can break this cycle and get up to at least seven hours a nite. I am exactly the same. For the past 15 years I've always got away with 6 hours sleep, now on ...

For side sleepers the Activa is the best in my opinion. I still have to go back to my UMFF mask if I have sinus problems, and I get tons of leaks from that unless I sleep on my back. The Activa's active cushion makes it best for sleeping on your side and you don't have to tighten the straps, mine ar...

If you think you can breathe through your nose then I'd try the Activa. I have the Activa and UMFF and although I started out loving the UMFF mask, I'm now using the Activa as I thought initially I was a mouth breather and didn't think I could cope with a nasal mask. I was dead wrong. I still have t...

I've noticed this too. When I got my S8 I was trying to simulate snoring whilst awake and I couldn't make it increase the pressure but I notice some nights when getting into bed that I'll start taking some long deep breaths, or change my inhalation/exhilation slightly so it's like I've just held my ...

TBH I don't find the S8 loud, but what I did find irritating for the first week until I adapted was the difference. I was used to a fixed pressure device humming at a constant decible level, but with the S8 on Auto mode I found that it seems to increase the more you inhaled. Sort of a stressed out m...

Ed I don't think you mentioned (or maybe I missed it) about which RemStar model you have. If you don't have the RemStar Auto then this may be better for you as it's auto titrating, or if you do have this then a BiPAP in theory would be better but only for exhaling. However my first thought would be ...

Seeing that machines only go up to 20cm I'm surprised there's quite a few people in this thread being on such a high figure! How many apnoeas or hypopneans were you having before CPAP treatment ? I was around the 140 AHI mark (2 per minute) but on CPAP on APAP am only seeing a maximum pressure of 13...

dllfo, I guess the question to ask is how long was she in bed for in the sleep centre and what was the longest segment of data they have got back ? If she was there for 6-7 hours and they're saying they don't have enough data to show apnoeas then I wouldn't believe this. I was waking up 4-6 times a ...

I can understand why Jay Leno may have said what he did. I'm completely up front with friends and work colleagues about my CPAP treatment and do not try to hide the fact that I need CPAP and where a mask at night. When having to travel out and stay in a hotel I always keep my CPAP close by and not l...

Nancy, it all depends on whether you think EPR/CFLEX is a requirement in AutoTitration mode. To be honest I was originally looking at Respironcs but in the end after seeing how small the S8 was, fell in love with it because I do a lot of traveling. For me I liked the idea of EPR/CFLEX but also knew ...
