Re: Interpreting Detailed Graphs?

Thanks, Pugsy, for all the helpful suggestions. I considered my apap range pretty narrow -- 8-10.4 -- without a lot movement, but since I've always been a light sleeper, even pre-apnea days, a bump from 9 to 10 could be significant for me. And I suspect noise is problem, too. Dang thing sounds like ...

Interpreting Detailed Graphs?

Can anyone point me to info re interpreting detailed graphs? I just figured out how to access them and am having trouble figuring out how the different categories relate: difference between "Flow Limitation" and "Leak" and "Minute Ventilation"? Here's situation: Although my AHI for past month is ver...

chronic daily dry mouth?

According to archive threads I've read, I gather that problems with excessive dry mouth are often related to mouth breathing, and it appears that the problem is usually confined to machine usage -- that is, folks experience during the night and first thing in morning. My problem is that I have been ...

ClimateLine hose & Snuggle hose?

Do folks generally recommend covering ClimateLine w snuggle hose?
Does the former preclude the latter, or does the latter enhance the former?

Setting Climate Control prob

I can't get the climate control icon to show up, either on Home page or in Patient setup menu. I've gone into clinical setup and selected "patient", but still no icon; no matter what setting I select -- manual, auto, patient -- I get no icon. Under Patient setup, only "hose" settings available are "...

Re: earache and cpap

Yeah, I remember reading about this problem listed in some cpap literature as potential side effectbefore starting therapy, but forgot about it after experiencing no problems first month or so. In last week, however, I've had a couple of nights where I woke up with moderate ear ache, same ear both t...

Re: Poll: Do you wake up refreshed?

Less than a month on apap, and at this point I feel like I've just swapped machine-induced hangover for med-induced hangover, but nonetheless, oddly, I do detect a pinch more energy during the day, despite thick-headedness, enough to encourage me to keep with it. I should add that I'm not convinced ...

Re: strange side effects: swelling

I'm not taking any meds, kteague, and the only supplements I take are an herbal tang custom-made for a stomach problem by a local herbalist, but I've been drinking that for a year without problem. You guys have convinced me I need to go see my GP asap. I've had some numbness and tingling in my hands...

strange side effects: swelling

Anyone ever have problems with circulation and swelling in extremeties from cpap? Shortly after starting cpap, I noticed swelling starting in my ankles. At first I thought this was due to sleeping with head of bed elevated to counter reflux caused by cpap, though I'd never had this problem before wi...

Re: interpreting & correlating graph data?

robysue, Do you know the Little Feat song "Rock n Roll Doctor" -- "two degrees in bebop, a Piaget of swing, he's a master of rhythm and a rock n roll king." You are clearly the "Cpap Data Doctor." If I were musically inclined, I would compose an encomium of lyrics in your honor. In the meantime, I w...

Re: UARS or idiopathic hypersomnia

Amen, SWS. I haven't seen this much odd nomenclature since my days as an "11BP" with Uncle Sam. Thanks for the link. tom Not to worry, Doubtful Tom. There are more acronyms associated with this sleep stuff than you can shake a CPAP hose at. Just click the link below if you'd like to see UARS search ...

Re: interpreting & correlating graph data?

[quote=" If you can, look at the air flow profile and you will see a definite correlation between the start of the leak and the increase in pressure. .[/quote] This sounds really helpful, j, but I'm not sure where to find "air flow profile." Is it in one of reporting options for ResScan data? Thanks...

interpreting & correlating graph data?

If you please, I need a primer in graph and data interpretation (starting at kindergarten level). I'll try to sequence these Qs in a coherent manner: 1) When reading Pressure and Leak data, 95th % is key stat, correct? So if your Leak stat at 95 is high, then you have a Leak problem that needs fixin...

Re: UARS or idiopathic hypersomnia

Excuse the beginner's Q, but what exactly is UARS? I tried looking it up in cpap dictionary, but didn't find it. I'm curious about a possible connection to my own condition. thanks, tom
