If it is the compliance checksum value that you're worried about, then it's always going to change. It's a number based off of a calculation of therapy and blower hours so you can just look on your machine and call the provider with compliance info and that checksum value tells the software you aren...

Not saying I dont understand the desire for the software, just that it's not an anti-trust issue or a matter of the manufacturers wanting to hurt the users. Maybe one day Respironics will come out with a patient friendly version that does nothing but monitoring. I think that would be beneficial for ...

Well, it's pretty tough to argue anti-trust when the limitations on the sale of the software are due to the fact that the software can modify a prescription setting on an fda regulated device. Patients are not the intended users of the software, so it's hard to argue that restricting its sale would ...

[quote="Spottymaldoon"]Thanks for the responses. My take out is that leakage is literally what it implies - all the air that doesn't remain in the system - intentional leakage from the couplings and mask vent, leakage from a poor face seal and (even) mouth leakage with a nose mask. I also take out t...

The BiPAP S/T is not quite a ventilator, it is actually classified as ventilatory support. Basically, the difference in need is that obstructive sleep apnea is a collapse of the airway leading to a stoppage in breathing (or shallow breathing in the case of hypopneas). In a central apnea, there is an...

In 1997, FDA issued a rule requiring labeling statements on medical devices, including device packaging containing natural rubber that contacts humans. There is no latex in the mseries tubing. And as a side note, no Respironics products contain latex. You could possibly try using the lightweight cpa...

The doctor cant prescribe you the provider manual. As far as the FDA is concerned, that would be the same as handing you his prescription pad and letting you prescribe yourself whatever you want. People need to get it out of their heads that it's some vast conspiracy to make you tired. Medical profe...
