Re: Train accident

I heard on the news the Chicago train driver who drove up on the platform complained about not getting good sleep. Much the same issue sounds like. I think they need to start routinely testing engineers for sleep apnea.

Re: Escaping from Windows XP before the deadline

No computer operation system was secure when you bought it Except Linux and Unix. And IBM OS/2. At least it was more secure than Windows. MS quit supporting OS/2 because IBM engineers did not agree with MS's desire to let software access directly the underlying OS calls to hardware. The end result ...

Re: Escaping from Windows XP before the deadline

please... Windows XP will be just fine for use for checking e-mail, checking sleepyhead data and all kinds of programs. Checking email means internet connection, and internet connection means being vulnerable to attacks. Migrate from Internet Explorer to Chrome and your internet connections will be...

Re: Hi, i've been missing for quite awhile

I want to thank everyone here for being so very very kind in their comments to me. It really made a huge differenece although I'm embarrassed to admit at how depressed and out of it i remain. You are being perfectly normal and undergoing perfectly normal responses. Don't worry about it. Let it happ...

Resmed stuff to give away - Update 2

I have the following used Resmed items that I'm willing to give away, rather than throwing them in the trash. 3 - S9 humidifier tanks , original style - These have been taken apart and cleaned in the dishwasher. 1 - Swift LT nasal mask with no pillows - well used but still somewhat serviceable. 1 - ...

Re: OT - Statins and You

I asked my doc about this a couple of months ago. He said, "Yes, there are some people who suffer an adverse reaction, about maybe 4 or 5%. The problem is their doctors aren't getting, or paying attention to, blood test results." Subsequently, twice as many folks suffer adverse reaction than should ...

Re: OT: Daily Funny bone - No sex after surgery

From another forum. No Sex after Surgery A recent article in the Dominion Post reported that a woman, Anne Maynard, has sued Wellington Hospital, saying that after her husband had surgery there, he lost all interest in sex. A hospital spokesman replied: "Mr. Maynard was admitted for cataract surgery...

OT: Remedy for cracked skin

For several winters I've had to contend with the skin at the end of my fingers getting dry and cracking. I've always before used a salve and bandaid to cover the crack and help it heal, but keeping a bandaid on the end of a finger is problematic. A couple of days ago I was browsing the bandaid displ...

Re: Lincare DME

I might have to change DME providers in the next few months; my insurance company recommended a company named Lincare; I've never heard of them. Anyone on this board ever heard of Lincare and if you have are they any good? Some folks here have referred to them as "Lin-don't-care"! Probably pretty m...

Re: "Supplies at little or no cost to you... "

Looking for a new ptovider, and I see several online making that claim. I'd be wary of anyone openly advertising that. It would be a violation of their insurance contract and you might find yourself all of a sudden one day getting a bill from your insurance company for the copay % of what the actua...
