The Ring? At home sleep study.

Hello, good people. I will be doing an at home sleep study. My sleep doc is having me wear a ring. And that is it. No sensors to the head or chest. I'm assuming that it only reads O2 levels and heart rate? Haven't got a chance to talk to the doc about it yet. Am I right? Also...are there apnea testi...

Re: looking for tricks to sleeping on my side...please!

You can also put a pocket t-shirt on backwards with a tennis ball in the pocket. But why do you want to have your test while you sleep in a position that doesn't come naturally to you? yes...a great question that, perhaps, I should have explained, except that I would be pummeled. But here you go......

Re: side sleeping

https://www.amazon.com/WoodyKnows-Upgraded-Side-Sleeping-Backpack-Breathing/dp/B07CMT6D44/ref=sr_1_6? I ordered this thing and is an absolute piece of crap. Only one size and way too small. The inflatable sections to put inside the backpack are water wings for kids and almost impossible to blow up....

looking for tricks to sleeping on my side...please!

Hello I have a take-home sleep study in two days. I normally sleep on my back and have severe sleep apnea. I occasionally sleep on my side, also. I want to try sleeping on my side throughout the night during the take-home sleep study. If you know of a way to help me do this, please let me know. I do...

Maybe I'm missing something, but why haven't you tried side sleeping yet?

I do at times, Julie....I go from being on my back to sometimes being on my side...but it doesn't mean anything without some type of test to see if my apnea events are less or my O2 changes...hence the title of my post.

Re: personal, at home sleep apnea test?

Not everyone will have significant desats in terms of Oxygen levels enough to earn the OSA diagnosis. There's more to OSA than just oxygen levels. A positive result is fairly straight forward but a negative result doesn't necessarily mean no OSA. thank you, Pugsy. You have been a great resource to ...

personal, at home sleep apnea test?

Is there a testing device one can purchase to check to see if they have sleep apnea without having a sleep study test performed by a medical sleep specialist? I have been diagnosed with severe sleep apnea and I sleep with a BIPAP machine. I mostly sleep on my back. I want to test myself without my B...

side sleeping

Has anyone had success decreasing their apnic events by learning to sleep on their sides instead of their backs?

If so, how did you teach yourself to stay on your side throughout the night?

Thank you.

Bicycle touring, camping battery for BIPAP?

Hello smart people.
I want to bicycle tour this summer and camp out. I use a BIPAP machine.
Can someone please instruct me in how to make this work?
I am a technological dunce.
What is a battery possibility?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

The air intake does not either go through or across the foam. The foam is strictly for sound proofing and rests on the bottom of the machine at least an inch or more from the intake channel. I took my oldest (2010) machine apart. I disagree with your assessment. The foam is the floor of the air pat...

Your photos show the air output, not the intake.

My photos showed the intake, which goes over foam along the entire pathway.
yes...I believe you are right about my photos being of the output and not the intake...my bad
thanks for setting me straight

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

In the next few days I will take my own Phillips System One apart and take photos to examine whether or not the foam is directly involved with the air-intake. I will upload the photos. also, in reply to the last few replies to my comments: the foam does not "surround" the intake channel...it blanke...
