S9 Air Filters
I use Apria as my DME supplier, and when I ask for replacement air filters for my S9, they do not ship me a Resmed branded item. The company they use is "AG Industries," The filter itself is thinner than the Resmed filter that came with the machine. I assume that these thin filters will not last as ...

Lost Swift FX short tube
I travel with my CPAP/Swift FX mask and I lost my short tube for my Swift FX. Has anyone obtained replacement parts from Apria for masks? I am using Apria because of my insurance company. I checked out cpap.com for the price of the short tube at it was $73, which is pretty high I think. I got my ori...

Titration Study vs. APAP
My sleep Dr. recommended a new titration study after a year, however is there a need to do this if I have an APAP? Isn't the only difference the EEG and pulse ox? It seems silly to pay for a new sleep study just for that, since my S9 is titrating for me every night! I have been using Rescan and my a...

Question on Swift FX/tubing replacement schedule
My insurance is like most, where I can get mask replacement after 3 months, along with new tubing. I can also get 2 pillows monthly for the s9. I am replacing my pillows every 3 weeks or so, and I'm happy with the FX. I am at the 3 month point now. Is there a reason to replace the headgear and/or cl...

APAP vs. CPAP Quality of Sleep Difference
I began CPAP in October 10 with a CPAP prescription for 11cm. The pressure did not bother me, but I wanted to see what APAP felt like. Taking the advice of other members on the board, I set my S9 AutoSet to a range of 9cm - 13cm. In looking at the ResScan data, I noted that the main difference betwe...

Rainout in pillows with Climateline tubing
I am getting a lot of condensation in my S9 with swift fx pillows. I have ordered a hose and pillow cozy from padacheek, however in the meantime until it arrives, should I be putting my climate setting up or down? I am using climateline tubing - tried settings at 80, 75, and 70 degrees with no impro...

Re: Central Apneas
11cm was my prescribed pressure. My S9 is set to CPAP mode, but I might try switching to APAP with a range of 9 - 13 to see if that changes anything.
From looking at the data, the centrals are mostly clustered together....

Central Apneas
I have begun my 3rd week of CPAP therapy ---- question on "central apneas". I am using ResScan to take a look at my sleep patterns, and its showing an average of 4 -5 central apneas per night averaging 13 seconds each. My AI is ranging from .5 to 1.2. During my PSG, I only had 1 central apnea. Is th...

Re: How is the CPAP type determined for Medicare participants?
You are going to have to put the screws to this DME. Call your insurer, explain the situation (emphasizing that the DME failed to provide you with the mask your doctor ordered) and see if they have any advice in dealing with the DME to reverse the billing. If the DME gives you trouble, work up the ...

Re: How is the CPAP type determined for Medicare participants?
The "30-day window" is what major mask manufacturers give to DME's to allow them to trade out masks that don't work for patients for whatever reason. The DME can return the mask to the manufacturer and they get a replacement for the next patient at no charge. Then the DME can give you another mask ...

Re: How is the CPAP type determined for Medicare participants?
I may be repeating what others have said, if so, please forgive.... Mask choice is really important. Well, actually information about mask returns is really important. Most mask makers provide a 30 day return policy. (I do not know about the particular mask you want, I have never heard of that bran...

Re: Swift LT vs Swift FX
I suggest Monday morning you march into Lincare and insist on the mask you asked for in the first place. Make sure they know you spoke to your insurer and it is covered. If they refuse, return the LT and proceed to another DME covered by your insurance to get one. Make sure the insurance company kn...

Swift LT vs Swift FX
Hi ---- I am a newcomer to the CPAP world and wanted to know people's experiences with the Swift FX vs the Swift LT mask. Is the mask really better? I did my titration at the lab with the Swift FX mask, and I found it really comfortable and I slept well with it without too much discomfort. My Dr. sp...
