Re: Medicare, DME suppliers, and CPAP
This is not the place for your political views. Please delete your posts. Interesting comment PST....How about MSNBC and the 4 Liberal commentators they had covering the election on TV. One of these commentators was even suspended because he made contributions to 2 Democratic candidates......They ar...

Re: Fact or False Belief?
I am not sure. Your string is a little deep for me. I know you said "lets take nasal congestion out of the example" I have always been a mouth breather. It is rare for me to breathe totally out of my nose. I catch myself breathing through my nose while driving, movies, etc. I am sure I shut my mouth...

Re: QUATTRO MASK
I use the Quattro. The first few days with my cpap took a little getting used to, including the mask. I got frustrated and went back to the DME and tried different masks. In the end I went back to the Qauttro, it is comfortable (as much as cpap masks can be) It does leak from time to time in the nig...

Re: Heavy Mask
I have the same mask. Make sure the hose is laying on the bed. Or in other words, dont let the hose "hang" or it will cause it to "feel" heavy. I have tried a zillion masks and come back to the quatro. First few nights I had a heck of a sore on the bride of my nose. I started backing off the "dial" ...

I have a full face mask with humidifier and still have a dry mouth.
No biggie....I just keep some water by the bed when I wake up.

Keep with it, after two weeks you will be a pro.
Remember...it takes 21days for something to become a habit.
The first weeks are rough. Keep looking at the posts, we are here to help.

Re: What is the best hybrid mask?
I found the hybrid to dry my nose and leak real bad.
But you may not have that issue. It just did not work for me.

Re: Just picked up equipment!! Tonight will be my first night!
Welcome to therapy !!!!! You will notice a difference in a week/two weeks. Stay with it, the mask can take a little getting used to. With a pressure of 8, I would not ramp. But that is your call. I have mine set at 5 minutes (down from 20 minutes when I first started) Just watch the inside of you no...

Re: Mask help
Welcome to therapy !! The mask/nose pillow will be your biggest headache....but its well worth it. I am on week three and feel like superman. Give time to get adjusted to the mask you are using. I had a sore that lasted a week. I started to use a band-aid at night to help, I also was making the mask...

Re: Ramp Time
I have only been using the cpap for two nights, and i have set the ramp for 5 minutes only. it was initially at 20 minutes, but i found myself waiting for the air flow to kick in before trying to sleep. I actually find the air flow soothing....it is the mask i am trying to get used to. The mask doe...

Re: choosing a mask
All I can say is good luck. Everyone has a different nose, chin, mouth and gap in between. I have tried three and keep going back to the Resmed Mirage Quattro. I tried the Hybrid, and it leaked and also dried out my nose. I tried the full face (Welders mask) and it leaked as well. Keep going back to...

Re: dreams
Sure. Starting to dream again indicates that your are now reaching REM state more consistently. The sense of peril is probably just your brain dealing with the new situation - using a mask, seeing doctors, being wired to the hilt, etc. You can look up "directed dreaming" to see if you can influence...

Maybe I am twisted.
Since therapy (little over two weeks)
I have started to dream again.
But my dreams have been dreams of peril .
Anyone else have this happen to them?

Re: Cleaning Face mask
Thanks for all the help. I got some Orange Clorox (bleach free) wipes at Target.
These will work great for during the week and I will do the water/vingar cleaning on weekends.
I have Greek oily skin and the wipes do the job.
