Re: After a year of bliss - now my mouth opens. Help!
Yes I do use a humidifier- it's the integral one that goes with my machine. I'm using it on either 2 or 3 right now, and it's been a godsend (that and the Mucinex every night before bed) in preventing my frequent sinus infections. Paper tape, huh? I tried some 2" wide Transpore (plastic with bitty h...

After a year of bliss - now my mouth opens. Help!
Okay, gang - I need some help. I've been using my machine with nasal pillows successfully for almost a year now. Love the mask. Minimal pressure on my face, minimal irritation, good headgear - love it. I also have a hybrid mask... Opus 360 , I think it's called [Wrong - the 360 is the one I like. Th...

Re: The subconscious mind seeks to foil this Newbie
Hi Laurie - Thanks for your honesty - it can be really hard to admit you're having a problem...especially with your subconscious! I put my mask on and was enjoying a good read before lights out. I was not sleepy at all and thought a bit of carbohydrates might help. It helped too much. I went back to...

Re: choosing a mask
It looks like I may be getting an APAP machine this week. I would like some help in choosing a mask. I was looking at the selection Cpap.com and the hybrid looks like a good choice. They show one at least that has an adjustable size. I do not have the luxury of going into a store and trying on mask...

Re: REMstar Double-Beep Alarm
What about an auction? I just ordered a new humidifier for mine from these folks and it seems to have gone slowly (we'll see - it should arrive tomorrow or the next day).

Re: Help me to design a new machinery for u!
You may rant about the quality of products coming out of "underdeveloped countries", but I trust the discretion of consumers and their doctors to make responsible decisions and avoid such products. So I'm sure that you're able to tell a counterfeit pharmaceutical that has no active ingredients from...

Re: Newbie with APAP questions
Thank you all for your great suggestions. I'm going to get the card reader and study up some more and geek out to my heart's content! My friend David (computer guru) would say that I'm hacking my sleep. As good a description as any, I guess.
Thanks again, everybody!

Re: Newbie with APAP questions
Emilia - thanks for the info. I think I will bring up the low end of the rate some. I was thinking that, if I started higher, the machine wouldn't need to let me have an apnea in order to turn itself up = lower AHI. Oh, and you have a beautiful cat. dtsm - I think the leak rate includes what comes o...

Newbie with APAP questions
Greetings, Folks - I've got a brand new diagnosis and a practically brand new REMstar Auto M Series with C-Flex, and my doctor doesn't know enough to advise me on how best to use it. I was hoping for a few pointers. My sleep study came back "mild," and my doctor wanted me to try all the "lifestyle c...

Re: Lifespan for "the Tank."
Sounds like you are doing fine...why are you concerned? Maybe because I seem to have this delusion that somewhere there's a manual of "How To Do It" (whichever "It" I'm trying to do), and I never got a copy. It's a character flaw. I'm working on it. I probably should have started a whole new thread...

Re: Lifespan for "the Tank."
Oh, sorry LSAT. Didn't mean to make anybody roll their eyes at the newbie. I was referring to the original poster, who has a Remstar Auto with CFlex, the lifespan of which he or she was trying to determine. I was just given Remstar Auto with CFlex, and I wanted to know if anyone who actually USED a ...

Re: Welbutrin to stay alert
I can identify with wanting to go off the meds if possible. I've never heard of taking Welbutrin for alertness, but it makes sense, I guess. I would think that this is a crappy time of year to try to wean off of something that has antidepressant effects, though. I've done mental health counseling an...

Re: Lifespan for "the Tank."
Hey, that's AWESOME! I was just given one that had 1.75 hours on it, then it sat in some guy's closet. I LOVE this machine and I'm glad it's likely to stick around a while. Now, who can give me some pointers on using it, because I'm brand new and my doctor knows exactly squat about it. Thanks, Kirsten
