Re: Howdy
I had to chime in and say that your mask looks too big, sloweddi. I also noticed you have a beard-how are the leaks? I love the Quattro, but I take a size small in the Quattro where I usually take a medium in any other mask. Janknitz has some advice for adjusting the Quattro: Taming the Mirage Quatt...

Re: Best Full Face mask, non-Resmed
Of course, there's a lot of value in buying from a manufacturer who doesn't artificially prevent their patients from buying from outside of their country. Yes, that is for sure. I wonder if this is an industry practice, because I had heard some things from people from Europe who couldn't buy their ...

Re: Best Full Face mask, non-Resmed
Hi, CPAX, Have you tried a Canadian dealer like 1800CPAP.com? What's too much money? I know those masks are pricey (I pay 154 dollars American for my mask), but once you have the mask, it will last a good long time. After I bought my mask over a year ago, I have replaced the cushion once for 54 doll...

Re: New to cpap...will throat irritation go away
What Pickup Truck and Samba said. I experienced exactly what you are experiencing. I was using a nasal mask, and for me, a mouthbreather, it was the wrong mask. I have messed up sinuses. I went with a full face mask and took to it like a duck to water, though it took me a week to figure out how tigh...

Re: Anyone have experience with hypothyroidism?
Hi! I was diagnosed with severe hypothyroidism when I was 26. The fatigue was crushing, I was exhausted, and when I walked, it felt like my legs were made of clay, and it took everything I had to move. My skin was rough, and the tissue wasn't springy like it's supposed to be. There was depression, a...

Re: 4 YR OLD HAS SLEEP APNEA
Hi, all. I really want to encourage the OP to consider what everyone elsehas posted. I was one of those children who had the tonsils AND adenoids removed to deal with breathing and infection issues. That was 45 years ago. It helped when I was young, but I still ended up on apap. Medicine has come so...

Re: POLL: Must-have mask features
Everyone has made good points. I would add my support to making a surer seal cushion and room for glasses. I use a full face Quattro and I have been fairly happy with it. I'm not happy with the forehead piece-because of the glasses-and I would like to see a more user friendly set of headgear. The ne...

Re: Sleep Apnea, to treat or not to treat!!!
Everything RestedGal said goes for me, too. Things I took as normal turned out to be symptoms of OSA. Going to the bathroom three or four times a night, pushing that snooze button, the naps... I grew up with a parent who had to use a cpap (hers was HUGE), and my mother was not diagnosed until her he...

Re: POLL -- Which Came First?
So, in short, I am not sure if he is serious about this or not, so I don't know whether you are going to get a serious answer to your question. Someone who is more interested than I am could probably search gvz's posts and see if what he's posted in the past is consistent with what he posted here. ...

Re: POLL -- Which Came First?
I was overweight before apnea, but OSA didn't help. I really ballooned when I was thirty-to 450 pounds. I started having problems around the same time. I also had other problems, like Rheumatoid arthritis and thyroid disease. I went on a cpap just before I had bypass surgery, and went off of it when...

Re: Issues with Face Mask - Solutions? (Frustrated!)
Angcor, Oh, I'm glad you're going to try the liners. The cotton ones I made I position on the mask itself, and then lean into the mask. They usually don't shift once the mask is in place. And yes, Pad-a-cheek has liners that keep the cushion from touching your face. Good luck. With this therapy we h...

Re: Issues with Face Mask - Solutions? (Frustrated!)
Yes, yes, yes...I am having these issues, and I have the Quattro. I have been back on the hose for four months, doing well, but in the last week, I have gotten a really bad rash. It is exzema. It's swollen, and red, and flaking, and really just irritating. Thanks to the XPAP vets here on the forum, ...
