CPAP and Migraines

Wonder if breathing in the humidied filtered cpap machine air can alleviate migraine headaches. Ever since I've been on cpap, I noticed migraines have just about disappeared. I know that breathing in pure oxygen can get rid of a migraine.. Wonder if there may be a correlation that my cpap is doing s...

Re: Micropore tape tricks -- please share

Does a mouth guard keep your mouth closed to prevent snoring, or does it keep the parts of your mouth and throat apart so that you wont even be in the condition that causes snoring?

right now i have no leaks, but sometimes the chin strap gets to me and i wish there was another way besides a FFM

Re: How do I stay OFF MY BACK?

Amazingly but true - get a mattress that is a tempurpedic type, (if too expensive, MAYBE a mattress topper made of that same material). I swear that i wake up in the same position as when i fell asleep because it totally cradles you and keeps you from turning and tossing in middle of night. it makes...

Re: I was without my cpap yesterday :(

it was snowing and very late, and they were afraid of me driving. I knew I could make it, but they insisted. so i caved in

During the night, I knew I should have been more assertive. I could have had a serious apnea because I caved in.

Re: Some nights I just can't use the cpap

The nose pillows might be upside down - make sure of that, because if they are you will feel stuffy-nosed. Also, when you put the mask on, pull out so that the nose pillows pop out in case they got squished. Also, adjust the nose pillows that are in your nose up and downward because i have breathed ...

I was without my cpap yesterday :(

I went to family's house for christmas about 33 miles away, and I had to stay overnight without my cpap. I was so worried! but as you can see, I survived. I don't know if I was snoring or having apneas, but I sure kept waking up every hour. I had a very bad sleep. I came home this morning and slept ...

Re: What is your CPAP pressure?

Hi - yeah I was wondering since I have a high number what would it feel like to have a low number, and why did i get stuck with a high pressure? Guess those seem like rhetorical questions that I wonder about. thanks to cpap therapy, I really miss the days when I could just lay my head down on a nice...

Re: Are sleep studies worth the price?

I believe that doing it yourself is akin to practicing medicine without a license. Also, you dont know what kind of pressure you need to put on your cpap without a professional opinion, and there's other things you may not be aware of, that a doctor will know. I mean, look at all the things we learn...

Re: Are sleep studies worth the price?

Yeah a sleep study will save our lives. Until you have one by a professional, you will never know what's going on with you. Having sleep anea can give a person a heart attack and bad quality of awake life. Imagine going to work on maybe 2 hours a sleep .. thats what I think its like waking up 72 tim...

Re: Resmed Swift LT for her nasal pillows, last how long?

Wow I didn't know they get soft. I have been wearing mine since October 3, and my insurance will replace them at no charge. My rep said we could change them once a month. I guess when I get the new ones, I will be able to tell the difference. I dont use lotion on my face, so there's nothing to break...

Wow thank you all for looking out for each other. I could not tell that her machine was not a data-reader. You have sharp eyes. I am thankful for each of you who have looked out for us. I am also shocked that insurance and the cpap tech are not being helpful and look like they are harmful. What's up...
