Re: Whistling Mask

My mask does the whistling sound also on exhale, will be watching this thread to see what could be causing this! For mine i "think" it's comming from the little exhalation holes in the mask and i'm thinking maybe it's to do with my pressure being so high at 18 and might just hve to be something I ge...

Re: Can't breath at higher end of Auto CPAP

Doug, my pressure is set to 18. I find if I put the mask on at 18 it's ridiculous. I wonder how my eyes don't pop out of my head with that pressure. At night though when I wake up and it's blowing at 18 I hardly can even FEEL the pressure. It's really bizzare. It's only when I open my mouth and the ...

Re: apprehensive to use my CPAP machine

what machine and mask do you have??

I personally can't use masks like the Swift FX etc as I get that suffocating feeling. I have a Zest Petite nasal mask now and love it. Finding the right mask is more than half the battle I think.

switched to CPAP last night after being on APAP.

My journey to sleep apnoea began about a year ago. I first started with the PR system one APAP machine. I really liked that machine. My AHI never got below about 5 or 6 with that machine but I was feeling great. Then I had to switch to a different machine for a while - not sure what it was (having a...

Re: Mask wanted

i had the same issue with the zest resting on the top lip and blowing air into my eyes and honestly it was the mask was too big. Now I would NEVER normally think I would need a "petite" size in anything, but for this mask I do.

I hope you are able to find another mask that suits you better

Re: Mask wanted

my first mask was a Zest and I had the same issue with sore/bruising under my nose. I ended up getting the Petite size mask and find that is MUCH better. I have tried a few masks but never lasted a night with them and kept going back to the zest. Maybe you need a different size? it also sounds to me...

Re: Is there a way to stop dreams?

Thanks everyone, it's reassuring to know it may become less noticeable over time! Most of the dreams lately have been either directly or indirectly related to my daughter and I "escaping" somewhere or from something.... perhaps I should look at what that may represent although I have a feeling I kno...

Is there a way to stop dreams?

I know that sounds like a silly question, but having never really dreamt before i'm NOT liking the vivid dreams i'm having. Last night was a terrible night with a very graphic horror movie playing out in my head staring me and my daughter!. Most nights though the dreams have been fairly basic and no...

how to deodorise a CPAP machine?

I stayed 2 nights at my parents house for xmas and they are both very heavy smokers. I've just set my machine up back at home and the air comming out of it smells pretty gross. I've got it running in the bedroom to just cycle some air through it but is there anything else I could try??

thanks.

Which of these 2 machines to choose???

I am able to get a machine in a few months time through an assistance program. They are only offering TWO machines and I have to select which one I want. On offer is either the Fisher and Paykel HC608 with carry bag, new heated tubing, spare filters and extra humidifier chamber. OR Phillips Respiron...

Re: Help change settings on REMstar Auto CFlex machine

LOL ok i'll leave all that well alone then Since i've changed it to AFLEx it still starts at 6 but are you saying it will just go up immediately when needed?? My last machine stayed at 6 for say 15 minutes and that was a pain because I often wanted it to go up quicker so it would be good if it does ...

Re: Help change settings on REMstar Auto CFlex machine

OK so I managed to change it to AFLE as it was on APAP. Thank you. I hope that will be better. When no in the clinicians menu, just in "my" menu done by holding down ramp button, there is something in there which confuses me. It's on the left side of screen and it's a F in a speach bubble type thing...
